Here's the next screenshot in the process!

This step is usually combined with the first that I showed; however, like I said I wanted to try out a way of building on top of a default model-- so it turned into two separate steps.

The characters depicted should be obvious, or rather, one should be and the other still might not; they're Terry and Bruce in their respective costumes.

About the step:

I traced over on a new layer detailed sketches that will be the foundation for inking. The reason it's on another layer is so I can make the original one invisible/deleted so that it's easier to tell what's going on. After that, I make any major changes in a different but similar colour of lines, like Bruce's hands were positioned a little low, so I redrew them in a lighter blue as to not erase any other part and so I could tell where I wanted his hands to actually be.

Oh, yeah, that is my actual handwriting, on and off the drawing tablet. Woe were my teachers throughout highschool.

Enjoy!

Hahah, don't trip over it, Batman's cape has a knack for growing at artistic will.

Interesting.. I always have a hard time with inking with tablets and such... cause I'm such a noob. It always comes out sloppy and insanely thick. D:
(and your handwriting is better than mine. XD)

I love me some McGinnus. <3

Hahah, I hope your handwriting isn't too much worse-- or else we might aswell use pictographs again.

I wasn't fond of McGinnus at first, but he's certainly grown to my liking as he realizes more and more there was nothing else he would've been quite so good at ;D

Thanks for the comment, will post line-art tonight!

well... ... maybe.. I try. D:

I was always thinking McGinnus wasn't a real Batman.. but when I started thinking about it... he was his own kinda Batman.. He wouldn't do well as a side kick.. that's for sure!

Yeah, definitely not side-kick material. I imagine McGinnus as Bruce if he didn't have to go through all the equipment testing/trials and whatnot, so he could start out a lot younger.

Also, I love how many of the important story arcs in Batman Beyond reflect situations Bruce has been in, shaping Terry to learn just as he did in a similar way.

The one episode with "10" getting arrested and Terry turns to Bruce and says:

"Bruce.. About what I said.. Anything like this ever happen to you?"
"Let me tell you about Selina Kyle.."

So classic.

DUDE. That episode made me squeal like a little 6 year old girl.
Sometimes... It makes me believe that anyone can become a Batman so long as they got the will and the way. Terry wasn't rich, but he's got ol' Brucey backing him up.

Yeah, it was definitely one of my favourites.
