Attention to muscle detail is nice (of course, I learned from the best ;3). Dat hand made shirt texture, mmmmhmmm.
Er, the only thing I think holding the piece back is the hair. It just doesn't seem as intimate as the rest of the illustration does. Hair's a bitch and it's my least favorite part of a digital painting for sure. I loathe doing hair. I think the scar looks good, for what it's worth.

Same, the hair is awful, I think. I have no idea how to colour or even draw hair properly, definitely something I have to work on. The gal who it's for loves it though, so it's all good.

Haha the face looks good, good attention to detail as usual. Like the stain on the wife-beater. And the hair in the braid. Only crit I have is the scar on his neck, just looking like diagonal hatching marks, doesn't seem to match the level of detail on the rest. Other than that, really awesome, wish I could color digitally like that.

Yeah, I'm still not sure how to do scars real well... last time I tried it it didn't read like a scar at all, so at least this time you know what it's supposed to be. I'll have to dig up some references for that next time I have to draw'em.
This one took probably 9-10 hours, tops. I really like how it turned out
