May the Fourth be with You!This is a drawing that has been left unfinished for over a year.
I couldn't get their faces right and finally stored it away. I found some inspiration last week and finished it β
partially because of the Star Wars Day, to have something new to show you.

Very cool...and I like how you have put Kylo in a defensive posture as opposed to an offensive one. Β In fact, in the junior novel, Kylo directly calls Rey out on this and suggests he sees HER as the aggressor rather than the other way around. Β And with Rey's struggle with darkness, while Ren's acts are not justified by it, there is truth in his words.

Rey looked very much like Anakin (full of rage on Mustafar) after she had beaten Kylo.
She was like Obi-Wan though when she turned and left him for death.
She also took the Skywalker saber with her, the same Obi-Wan took on Mustafar.
Mustafar was a lava planet, Starkiller base was cold...

Yeah, she definitely did have that same rage-filled look. Of course, unlike Obi-Wan, she probably did not know yet that she could have Force-jumped over that chasm to finish Kylo (thank goodness).
It is amazing how, now that I have a Kylo Ren cosplay, I see and feel myself acting out these scenes from Kylo's perspective...even more than I already do. (And I can only ever truly feel from Kylo's perspective, not Rey's.)

She looked very shocked after she realized what she had done (slashed his face) that I don't think she wanted to kill him any more.
That is one of the "what ifs" β what if the chasm had not opened there?
You have a whole costume! You look really cool with it.

I guess I am less trusting of her...I tend to think she still wanted him dead and was angry at having her chance taken from her. But then...I don't like her very much. She reminds me of all the cruel girls who tormented me when I was younger.

It is so Star Wars to be left wondering what could have happened if Rey had been less aggressive here.
Fortunately there are many talented fan fiction writers who can tell the story differently.
