I redid my idea
And its better. XD Isnt it funny how that works?Anyways, the effects gave me a really hard time. I didn't really know what to do with the transformation bits and i've never been super good at glow/sparkle effects.
Chrysalis is probably one of my fav villians. Under Nightmare moon and sombra.
Well, all three really tie together in my head somehow?
Idk, i've seen cool ideas out there that I like.

I left the crown out cause it gave me a headache and was all "She wouldn't have the crown during the transformation, its jewellery!" but that doesn't explain the necklace xD Or the fact she has her own crown after the transformation in the show. Ah well.

I gave you 4.5 stars for everything except originality (because I have seen a few Chrysalis/Cadence transformation-themed artworks before), because I like it so so much that I would give it 5, but what then if you drew something even more epic and I couldn't show that love it more? You say you are not very good at sparkle and glow effects; well this proves you wrong. This is the perfect swirly glow for the transformation! I love the way the wings of Cadence blend into the wings of Chrysalis. I also like how the swirls of glowing "smoke" (that's what it makes me think of) curl around the parts of the body that are transforming. Her expression is very apt too. Some improvements I think would be the cleanness of the linework (the line of the front foreleg overlaps the wing) and that back foreleg looks slightly wonky to me. I really like it, and keep up the good work!

I know my lineart is messy. I did notice the few mistakes after I posted it and was gonna clean it up but then I...got lazy.

Unhappy? In my opinion it's a decent art! The shading here is outstanding - the light looks great coming from below and dropping on Chrissie's legs and cheeks.
I've searched for more works featuring my Queen but didn't find any... Dunno if you take requests but I'd love to see Chrysalis done by you. If not, just let it fall on deaf ears.
