Description
For some reason the lineart took me longer than the colors. It's DIN A3 size and completely colored with copic markers which took me about 6 hours.Click here for the lineart:

Oh my god that is so simply gorgeous!!! You are INSANE for taking on such a detailed and time consuming project. I am in awe of how much work you put into it. It just looks fantastic. Can barely describe it in words. Her pose and the perspective. Wooooah. I would love to be there...in that field with that moon.

I think I didn't get any praise like this in years... Or like ever. This picture took me so damn long, and until recently, I didn't get any comments or favorites for it at all, although I put my heart into it. I was so disappointed. I'm really really reaaally happy you like it so much. This SOmade my day. Thank you! *super hug*

I am glad that I could make you smile!! I'm surprised that on DA of all places, noone else commented on how the lineart gradually lightens as the flowers get smaller or the pure detail on every flower. I really appreciate fine details in art and you pull them off so naturally!!

I looked at your blog and wanted to ask a question about how you compile a piece like this. It's somewhat for my own personal system of making art...
you start with a sketch and then draw it out several times? for final line art do you find that you need to start over many times to get it 'perfect'? I noticed even after you started to color you started over. Did you redraw the whole picture? Im trying to find a way to perfect my lineart better and, it looks like the best way is to just redo everything any time I make a mistake... Is that kinda what you do? do you find that you spend a lot more on paper.. or does it make you more careful?
I love your art and I love the way your blog is set up. so thanks for all that information even with out direct words.....
I really want to get to a level like this with my art....

Hey there!
It always depends on the picture how my drawing process looks like.
I'll try to divide them into 2 categories for you.
#1 case: Pictures I more or less drew accidentaly. XD
Meaning, I just sketched around a little for fun or knew I wouldn't draw a background.
Then I usually don't do the pictures over and over again.
The steps are somewhat like this:
1. Do the sketch and scan it afterwards, maybe erase some parts I messed up, print the sketch out again and correct them.
2. Make the lineart and also scan it afterwards. Maybe correct a little again.
3. Color!
...Although I'm pretty lazy sometimes and just sketch, lineart, scan and color. ^^'
#2 case: Something big!
This rarely ever happens lately, except this picture and perhaps "Gloom".
But then I try my best to make them perfect.
For these 2 pictures I didn't have the possibility to scan and print them out again since they are in DIN A3 and my scanner and printer are only A4.
So I had to plan a lot more than I usually do. For big projects, it's always good to make little thumbnails,
to find out which composition of the picture looks best. Choose the one you like best and either draw it in a bigger format and plan a little more,
or go for the final sketch. Steps are somewhat like this:
1. Thumbnails
2. Sketch & scan
3. Lineart & scan
4. Colorkey (!), meaning you print out small versions of your picture and color them roughly to find out which colortheme looks best.
5. Color!
Hmm, I hope I didn't forget anything and that this helps you a little. :3
