A common raven (Raaf in Dutch; Corvus corax). Member of the black metal family Corvidae within the 'songbirds' Passeriformes.

Sketch with graphite pencils, colours with tinted water-soluble graphite pencils (Derwent graphitint 12 colours) and with plain aquarel paint from tubes XD.
Took me one midday to produce, but longer to learn about the anatomy of a raven XD

Actually the aquarel effect that I had in mind was different, much more watery aquarel with the water spreading a bit more on the paper. I per se wanted to try my new tinted pencils and it seemed that these were not suitable for the watery effect... So I decided on the way to make it a mixed style XD
There is only one colour blue in the Derwent set I have, so I decided to add some plain aquarel paint (more diverse blue colours, no black) and white (which looks a bit yellowish here, compared to the blue, although I mixed it with light blue).

I know the pose is a bit static, but I'm learning to use more traditional media and perspective drawing (as a meticulous biologist, I want it all as anatomical correct as I can get XD)
