Description
I hope this is helpful in someway, and I really hope it comes out okay. I realize I wasn't extremely specific, but still...
The main thing you really need to do is experiment on your own. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that you are your own teacher.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to eat spaghetti and watch some Daleks Exterminate some Sh**!

Sorry for asking but this was not at all explained, but what do you use? Sure, you did say Photoshop but there are so many of those types of links to click with 'Photoshop' so I cannot look it up. Can you give me the link please?

I don't really have a link to download it...it's an older version, Cs5. Wait! I just looked, and here's one link to Cs5:Β www.itsupplystation.com/producβ¦
There are newer versions, and those are easier to find and buy.Β
A word of advice: don't try to download photoshop free. I tried before I got photoshop for christmas, and my computer was ruined. Granted, I didn't know much about illegal downloading then, but still... Also, it is normally better to have the full version anyway, because then you have the entire program, and there will be far less glitches.
The only downside is that Photoshop is always in the hundred(s) dollar zone. It's something you'd want to ask your parents for at christmas or as a really awesome birthday present.

I'm definitely asking my parents for Photoshop CS5 for Christmas. That's the only present I want. Eh, or maybe I can save up and pay my parents back.

Lol wow I looked at it, with my mom behind me because I had said 'Yay I finally got a response, lets see Photoshop..' so I clicked it and then I'm like woah thats 365$ and my mom told my dad, he was being silly and said thats one dollar for each day of the year...
But I may not be able to get something that expensive, I really never have, but lets hope I can get it on my birthday, I suppose.

I have a suggestion for step 4. I'm not sure it would work for you because I use Paint tool Sai, but I'll just say anyway.
What I do, to avoid the erasing, I hide the color layers, then select the magic wand, and then select the areas outside of the fur. I then show the color layers, and start erasing. It's pretty efficient if I do say so myself. I think you should try, since it saves a lot of time.Β
But overall, this was a very good tutorial! Thanks for sharing!Β Β

Also Instead of Erasing it AND using the magic wand tool you can use the lass tool as well for surounding the character and then the color doesn't go anywhere else ^^

Nice tutorial! I was having the same problem with erasing about a year ago, but there is a tip to make it nicer.
When you use the magic wand tool, use expand as well (this gets rid of the yucky line around the drawing and can be found under the "Select" options). There are usually still a few places that will need hand erasing afterwards, but this saves me a ton of time!

oh, the magic wand tool part haha ;v;
if you expand (depending on the size of your lineart) then it takes that away.
I set mine to 2px expand and it cuts of into the lineart so nothing is on the inside or on the outside.
You have quite thin lineart though so I would recommend experimenting! It is definitely much better
