This took me so long to finish it is legitimately stupid. But I am excited that it is done and I finally get to show you my shiny things. :3__
I had a dream about the origins of Sauron/Mairon the Maiar, and his time spent in the service of Aulë the Smith. Now I am trying to put some of that dream-material into a comic.
I want to explore some of the empty margins in the history of these characters, simply because there is a lot about Middle Earth theology that frustrates me a great deal, and I feel like the motivations of a lot of the 'dark' characters are not explored in the books at all (or at least, not to my satisfaction). So this is my sort of self-indulgent, mini "Paradise Lost" for the Silmarillion. XD

How are you so patient? This must have taken forever?! But it looks so pretty! 8D All those gems all those metal things, wooh! And I love the elf a lot. I'm not sure if he is sitting on his cape or hair, but it fits either way. I love how outrageously he's dropping those coins, tsk tsk.

"There was logic and beauty in his designs" - that resonates with truth. In fact, it describes a gem perfectly - it is beautiful because of its logic, its measures, its grid, its facets. The accompanying drawing illustrates this concept perfectly.

Guuuurl the jewels and gems are so good, Ungoliant would eat them all up! (that's cracky to imagine for me always how Melkor fed her with them XDDDD Ever since I saw this picture XDD [link] ) By the way, I can't express how amazing it is you're doing it because of a dream. Like woah! I want such dreams damn it, I have weird ones, like abou a manly dude who get magic when they eat powdered wolf-fur /dies XDDD Anyway, wow, the stylized weapons are gorgeous too, no wonder this page took you forever. But it was worth it! Just, who is the mysterious figure on the throne? Some representation of general ruler of Eldar race, for whom all this metal and precious gems come in handy? I don't want to be silly and assume something XDDD
Anyways, asjhdjkashdjahskdjh you are a brilliant artist and I want your brain kthx. Also I'm amazed that these comic is square in format, that's so cool XD
