Description

Manda as a Tanystropheus.

Manda’s serpentine lóng/chinese dragon body isn’t very impressive when his co-stars are Godzilla, Anguirus, Ghidorah, and the rest. Compared to them, he’s a generic sea serpent. But he’s not without charm.

Tanytropheus is a good fit. Aquatic, serpentine, predatory, charming, etc. Also, I like the idea that no one knew that he wasn’t a sea serpent until one time when he walks onto land

This is the most accurate (accurate to the original Toho Godzilla franchise) redesign of a Godzilla character I’ve seen in your gallery. Great job!

I like this Mnada the most how she like a sea dragon. But in Destroy all Monsters they took away her horns and whiskers and made her look like a giant Snake.

I've heard the horns are missing because they used the head for a television show, as the front of a viking longboat that gets caught on fire .

Yes! Manda! This is the daikaiju that had like a two second cameo after Rodan attacked Moscow!

Aside from the movie where it first appeared, this one's been relegated to mostly cameos.

Could you draw Manda looking like Godzilla the series Nessie? just more eel like?

I think this artist has done something similar to that.

A Tanystropheus isn't an impressive animal either when compared to animals like Dimetrodon, Mesosaurus and Estemmosuchus and the Phytosaurs they were twice as more weird looking…compared to them Tanystropheus was just a generic sea lizard, but a long-neck.

But I gotta hand it too ya Manda looks pretty beast!

Very cool concept, but I really love the artwork, it just looks very well done, and it gives this Manda some personality.

I didn't even notice the Easter Egg stuff till I was reading the comments. Those are wonderful! And so is the main monster too I always prefer my Manda with fur and whiskers. Not really too sure why he lost all that when he was in DAM. Though I am sure the suit was not in the best of shapes when it was in that movie either.

The length of the neck and body don't correlate well with each other. Very out of proportion, but the details are nice so I'm willing to forgive.

The neck was originally going to be much longer than this, and more flexible too. I thought it was a bit too much.

I just feel the arms and legs are too close together.

Manda is a cool character in my opinion, I always liked Eastern Dragons

The Tanystropheus concept wouldn't be out of place for a Chinese Dragon.

Huh, now there's an interesting idea. Definitely one I haven't seen before, too.

As for the little Easter eggs on the rock, what's the green one? I recognize the Barrem, Shockiras, and Ghogo, but not that one. Is it something from Toho? I almost want to guess that it's a Xeno egg...

The green thing is an anemone of some sort. Nothing Godzilla related.
