Description 30 Day Retrosaur Challenge  part 10 - Flying Tyrant

Huitzilopochtlus was named after the Aztec sun god , as its fossils were found nearby the Pre-Columbian city of Tenochtitlan. During the late Cretaceous it hunted prey very much as an eagle does, spotting a meal while flying and diving upon with with claws an fangs. Comparable in size to a True Tyrant, it often preyed upon the same food sources, and a bold individual would be able to carry off the young of the Horned Goliath from out of a protective ring of its guardians.

Naming this thing after Quetzalcoatlus' brother is really clever.

Retrosaur land in Jurassic park/world can be a exhibit where they show these creatures for shock value(since they are unlike anything else in the park. Maybe they create mini-retrosaurs as affectionate pets...who can only be treated by patented medication created by ingen, making even more money

Is this based on old Pterosaur reconstructions or on when they thought dinosaurs were dragons?

Not really. A bit of the monster from "Q the Winged Serpent" and an old toy I owned as a kid.

Yes, and also inspired by the old Carnegie pteranodon toy.

Dinosaurs drawn in the style of old, outdated paleoart. Dragging tails, no feathers, etc.

Awww, I was gonna make one of those demonic pin-headed Quetzalcoatluses for this challenge, too! Ah well, great minds think alike I guess.

Great design! Especially the wings and claws

I actually havent seen those strange old depictions of quetzalcoatlus before. Having looked them upI wish I knew about them before I drew this, they definitely would have informed the design.

Also, don't let me stand in your way. Draw them however you like!
