Description
This composition is a study on fonts, their characters and how they interact with each other in a given space. The object of the peice was to create a visual gestalt using the font face Univers. Please let me know what you think. for all of you wondering. this is done by hand, cutting out printed type, taping and xeroxing the image to remove any lines. should try it its really funRelated content

It ROCKS!! : )
no, really. I'm a designer myself, but more into calligraphy stuff..
And, from my experience, making these by hand gives you some extra edge in composition over photoshop. Don't know how to explain.. Maybe its about feeling the real space and perspective, rather than staring at the screen... You feel more natural, more at home, and that's important for making a good piece, such as this one.

i really don't think any criticism is necessary on this piece. I wish typography and layout and graphic design was accepted more to be an art -- a personal art -- who cares what the rules are sometimes.
i absolutely love this .. great job on this.

i'd love to try this project, but i'm a little confused as to what you did...you printed out random letters, cut them up, taped them together, and xeroxed? or am i missing something?

I dont remember the designer but this strongly reminds me of them. I believe it may be the same designer who carved text in to his skin. Don't quote me on that because I may be wrong.
I like how you used numbers are visual images.
