Description

I haven't painted in a while, so I started with something that wouldn't see the tabletop.

I got this Hive Tyrant on sale for Black Friday. The base coat was sprayed Gray Seer. The wings and body base are painted with contrast paints - Flesh Tearers Red and Shyish Purple. The chitin is painted in Naggaroth Night. The claw tips were coated with Nuln Oil Gloss.

One thing that shows up in the flash from the camera but not in regular lighting is the slop between the wing fingers and the membrane. It hides in the shadows under normal light but is clearly visible in the camera flash. Since there's no cleaning up contrast paint without rebasing and starting all over again, I am leaving it.

Fluff - This Particular Hive Tyrant was spawned on Kessan and slain trying to kill Thaddeus Bolek . It is now taxidermied and on display in the Rogue Trader Grand Cruiser Fili Invictus.
