Species: Drill Pokémon
Type: Ground/Steel
Ability: Ironise - Turns Rock-type moves into Steel-type moves.
HP: 115 > 115 (+0)
Attack: 140 > 170 (+30)
Defense: 130 > 180 (+50)
Sp. Attack: 55 > 55 (+0)
Sp. Defense: 55 > 75 (+20)
Speed: 40 > 40 (+0)
Total: 535 > 635 (+100)
Evolves from Rhyperior to Mega Rhyperior with the Rhyperiorite while in battle.
After evolving, Rhyperior gains Steel as a type, replacing Rock. It receives a massive increase in its Defense, and a small boost in its Sp. Defense. Its Attack gains a large increase as well.
- Mega Rhyperior's diet consists mostly of rocks and boulders. They go through several processes through Rhyperior's body, which turns it all into iron.
- Mega Rhyperior is feared by the majority of the population, due to its immense power. It can drill through entire mountains, and burrow under the ground without breaking a sweat.
This piece was without a doubt my most ambitious project - but I wanted to take up the challenge, after it was suggested. To be honest, I didn't think I'd be able to improve on Rhyperior at all. I'm extremely proud with the result, though. This is also the first time I have created my own ability (Ironise). I feel that it made sense, considering my concept. I was torn between Ground/Steel and Rock/Steel. I'm happy with the decision I made.

I'm kinda on the fence.
Rhyperior is my favorite pokemon. And I'm just holding my breathe waiting for them to announce an official Mega Rhyperior. Maybe for Pokemon Z, or whatever the next may series game may be called.
But at the same time, I would be devastated if it turned out ugly or useless. So I am weary, but hopeful.
I sometimes think about what a Mega Rhyperior might be like. What time it might have? Ability? How would to spread out the 100 additional stats to make it more competitive.
Rhyperior is already a strong pokemon. With a few crippling features. It's many and common weaknesses and it's slow speed. So I can only hope it's Mega evolution will rectify those soft spots and make it a powerhouse.
Looking at your design, inspiration, and even stats. I would be thrilled is the official looks ANYTHING like this.
Could you/would you do a shiny variation? Maybe differing from the regular Rhyperior Gold Shiny colors? and try something new?

Tangrowth, perhaps. Yes. I don't have to stick to my idea of going through generations. It was just so I don't choose too many at once and can't decide which to do. I'm on Hypno right now. Thanks, once again, for making suggestions.
