The votes are in, and Loona was chosen by my Watchers to be the next character redesigned for Helluva Boss!

One thing I noticed about the show, is how every other character has Daddy Issues™️. For Loona, I can sorta figure this being a point with her being an Adoptive Daughter to Blitzø and having behavioral problems with excessive aggression, but it feels rather one note. What I really didn’t like was her character practically being reset at the start of Season 2, for literally no reason—they seriously need a continuity writer. While her fighting scenes were nice for the most part, I just really wished we had more somber moments between her and Blitzø that shows why the Imp is willing to demolish a whole theater when thinking about keeping her safe and is generally hyper protective of his daughter. That aside, I do like how her palette features more cooler colors in contrast to the bright red Imps she works with, it helps her to stand out more. I will say that in the Kesha episode, I REALLY liked some of the background Hell-Hound designs and it made me think about how sorta bland Loona looked as a generic Wolf emo-girl. I prefer to experiment with different breeds with Anthro characters, since it gets me to think more creatively with design decisions, so I gave it a try here!

Loona is a Pit-Bull Hell-Hound who is the adoptive daughter to Blitzø . Similarly to the stigma her breed carries in America, Pit-Bulls and other aggressive breeds of canine are sought out by Imps to work as bodyguards, security detail, and are preferred to be vicious. However, these Hell-Hounds come with a low rate of permanent adoption, and Loona is no exception. Due to going through several owners by the point Blitzø met her, she was plagued with deep trust issues and being hyper reactive towards anything negatively stimulating. In a way, Blitzø could understand her pain of having next to no genuine connections out of fear she’d have to continue the vicious cycle she’d be condemned to, enough that he decided to lovingly adopt her. Loona was definitely confused at first when it came to suddenly being showered with affection, yet her new father was willing to display patience with her, even if he’s a little too over protective at times. Overtime, she managed to warm up to Blitzø and realize that he genuinely cares about her well being.

People often confuse Loona as I.M.P’s security guard due to her breed, but surprisingly, she has a rather mundane job as a Secretary in the office. While she doesn’t talk as much to her co-workers , Loona is shown to look out for them in her actions. When Loona gets unleashed into battle, her vicious nature ravages anything that comes her way, yet she has a tendency to get too into the violence and blindly attack her teammates. Her wild side is a point of conflict that’s she is trying to keep under control, and is afraid she might one day severely hurt one of the Imps unintentionally, but Blitzø assures her that he would still love her at the end of the day. That and they have good insurance.
