The best 'villian's' in doctor who in my opinion. I love 'em to bits...but damn they scare the hell out of me.The Lonely Assassins, that's what they used to be called. No one quite knows where they came from, but they're as old as the Universe, or very nearly. And they have survived this long because they have the most perfect defence system ever evolved. They are Quantum Locked. They don't exist when they are being observed. The moment they are seen by any other living creature they freeze into rock. No choice, it's a fact of their biology. In the sight of any living thing, they literally turn into stone. And you can't kill a stone. Of course, a stone can't kill you either, but then you turn your head away. Then you blink. Then, oh yes, it can.

Ah, yes...the Weeping Angels. For a single appearance, they've become quite distinctive--to the point where they were spoken of by the Time Lord Rassilon, and to the point where they, like River Song, shall make a return in the life of the Eleventh Doctor. I eagerly look forward to trying not to blink yet again. :3
I like how you depicted this Lonely Assassin. As people who've seen the episode, the Angels don't ALWAYS have that demonic snarl on their faces...and when they don't, they can actually pass more or less for humans. And while, as the Tenth Doctor warns us, they're not ACTUALLY weeping when they cover their eyes, you have to wonder--all those centuries lived utterly alone, unable to truly interact with anyone, even their own kind. It'd be enough to give just about anyone a sense of melancholy from time to time.
A melancholy I see on the face of this Angel as she turns towards the camera (nice use of a distortion effect to simulate the presence of a TV screen, by the way). Of course, once the user blinks, I suspect that that vaguely mournful expression will turn to one of primal malevolence...but still, in this moment, it's not that hard to imagine where the Weeping Angels got the title of "Lonely Assassins." If she wasn't most likely psychotic, I'd try to comfort her, if I were there.

I KNOW!!! I, personally, think that their blank face is the scariest. You know, just looking at you with those dead stone eyes... brrrr (shudders). Although their murder face is also really scary. I mean, you're all like "Ooh, pretty angel statue!" and then you turn around/blink, then it becomes "OMGWTFTEETH!! SCARY POINTY TEETH!!!" Aaaand then they kill you. Nicely, of course..
