Happy (belated) Alien Day!As big of a fan I am of the Alien films as well as the Xenomorph alien, I'm surprised that I never gotten around to actually painting this awesome creature until now! It is probably the most influential creature design considering how much it's design has influenced many other creatures and in popular media since Alien's initial debut many decades ago.
A truly amazing, iconic and terrifying design and concept that changed the way we view sci-fi horror.
Giger was a frikkin genius!

The Xenomorph's design is sort of a mixture of biomechanical and organic elements. Which suites Giger's surrealistic style quite well overall. This painting isn't really a redesign even though in some areas I took some liberties based on existing Xeno designs.

well that depends of which version of Xenomorph's design we are talking .. the original was purely bio mechanical but with each new sequel it got bit more organic ...with the biggest jump being alien resurrection. which is the movie that first did that version of the tail.
