Description A gecko got crushed in our window some days ago, and it started to smell so I disposed of it...after taking some macro shots of it. I have more but they are pretty gruesome, but cool too see the intricate detail of their bodies.

I like this one because you can see the pads on it's foot and some of the detail of it's tail

Nice image, great colours and I love the earthy background, that looks great.
Who would have ever thought their feet would look like that

(( I just ordered a macro lense from Ted's in the city I can't wait to get it especially after seeing this ))

Hey thanks, and for the flavor flav. That "earthy background" is complements of the 1970s...it's our green-concrete verandah. Yeah, I thought their feet were really cool when I saw them. I didn't realise they were little pads. After some research (read: browsing google), I now wish I could take photos at a microscopic level because those pads are covered in tiny hairs which allows them to stick onto things.

Awesome about the lens, I only have a $219 Canon PowerShot A430 which has a "Super Macro" mode, so I don't really have a lot of control over the focus (only moving the camera around until I get something I like). I assume with SLR macro lenses you have alot of control over the focus. I'll be looking forward to seeing how your macro shots look.

One more thing, I like your signature, heheh

Hahaha, yeh this guy said that quote the other day in chat I thought it was really funny so I chucked it in my sig. I can't wait to get the macro And yeh that would be so cool to be able to take photographs at a microscopic level I guess you need a microscope for that, lol.

I love how it's a gecko that was crushed in your window and was just left there, we got so much crap like that around, like wasps caught inbetween windows and heaps of geckos, it reminded me so much of my house.

Hehe yeah. Yeah, well I was the only person who ever saw it. I noticed it one day, tried to take photos of it but there wasn't enough light and so my camera set a slow shutter speed and blurred the whole thing, so I left it thinking that my dad would see it and get rid of it when he closed the window that night. Next day I got up and went to the window, it was closed and I couldn't see anything poking out so I figured it was gone, but I opened the window and it was still there. So I got my camera and tried to take photos again. There was a breeze and I kept getting wofted with rotting gecko scent...and there was not enough light to get any photos so I decided to just throw it in the wheeliebin, but then I decided to just put it on the verandah and take a bunch of macros of it.

Yeah, that was a long and pointless story, big whoop, wanna fight about it?

...if you're a Family Guy fan you should know what I'm talking about ...otherwise you'll think I'm antagonistic.

Yeh don't worry I got the 'Big whoop wanna fight about it' thing lol At least Channel 7 have finally decided to play some new Family Guy stuff especially coupled with American Dad

Reminds me so much of my house, moths/geckos/wasps. hahahahah.

Hehe, yeah, I've missed a few of the Family Guy episodes because when they first started airing Season 4, I had up to Ep 10 on the PC, and then they went past them and I've only just started watching them on 7.

My friends love American Dad, I think it's pretty ordinary though. Although the more I watch, the funnier it gets. I still hate Roger and Klaus though

Yeh I don't really like Klaus, but Roger is awesome. When you look at the comparisons between it and Family Guy they are exactly the same. Theres some table comparing them on Wikipedia and Roger really is just like Brian (smoking, drinking etc.) I just like American Dad more because it has a drier humor.

Woo this has gotten way off topic

Roger...ew. Hehe, I guess I'm just more a fan of the continuous pop-culture references in FG.

While we are on the off-topic of cartoons, I also love Futurama...on DVD with Audio Commentaries. Seriously, when I bought the Season 3 box set I when I watched the episodes through the first time without commentary I was just doing it so I could then watch with the commentaries. Gotta love David X. Cohen's funky voice.

Now more off-topic, do you like Kevin Smith movies?..and, to get to the reason I brought this up, have you see Clerks: The Animated Series?
