1. Your dA gallery is one of the more eclectic ones I’ve seen. How would you describe the range of images you create for dA and other sites on which your art appears?
Well, I tend to do a wide range because I get so many requests and commissions. The vast majority of what I do doesn’t really get seen as I post them on my eroticillusions site. My own particular tastes tend towards my ‘diary of a party girl’ stuff though. Mind you, I do enjoy doing the monsters and peril as well.
2. Aside from being “a hard working young woman who just enjoyed life in an albeit slightly unconventional way,” what was it really like to be a party girl in the 90s?
Tiring! I did work very hard and liked to let off steam in style. As a nurse, I worked all sorts of shifts, earlies, lates and some nights so the partying had to fit around that.
Things tended to be kept fairly secretive and insular; it was more not what you know but more who you know. Once I got into the scene (long and very un-DA friendly tale) and then drew in my friends, I discovered there was a kind of circuit. Clubbing and subsequent after-parties put me in touch with people that led to other party lifestyles. I ‘lived it large’ for about 6 years and believe me that was enough to virtually burn me out. Fun though.
3. Are there really more than 400 pages of your “Diary of a Party Girl” series on Renderotica? And how much of what appears there is true as opposed to fictionalized? When will DiaryOfAPartyGirl.com launch?
Well I think there are about 700 in total (so far). Some of it is embellished and fictionalized. For example, one or two of the people who have followed me for years and have been loyal have been squeezed into the DoaPG stories. Having said that, it’s mostly true. My blog stories are all true. Of course for effect I have added emotions. I can’t always remember every little sensation but actually I suspect they were even more intense at the time than I remember now.
There are also lots of things I haven’t mentioned because they could lead directly to certain people and we had a sort of code. We had to be discrete, which was one of the reasons I kept being invited back time after time.
As for the website launch, I am just waiting to hear back from the website builder The design has been decided and he’s building it for me. Soon I hope, I am very excited.
4. What made you decide to become a 3D artists? What came genre first -- erotic and explicit art or non-erotic/non-explicit art? What made you decide to cross over from one genre to the other?
Actually, I used to scribble naughty pictures when I was at school, much to the giggles of all my friends. We’d discuss very un-ladylike things. They’d often explain I was drawing men’s bits wrong. After all, I had never seen one at that point so it was mainly from biology books! When I moved away from London and out to the country, a family friend used to show me the things he could do in 3dsmax and I loved what I saw. He encouraged me with Poser as it was far simpler to use and that was 17 years ago!
5. Your dA profile page says that you take commissions and that you are “happy to cover any subject matter at all as long as the figures are all of legal age.” Have you ever turned down a request that you found too over the top or offensive? What has been the most bizarre commission request you’ve received?
No, so far I have never turned down any commissions apart from age related issues. I have had some of the most bizarre requests imaginable. Some of which I couldn’t even hint at on here! There have been more than a few ‘wtf!’ moments but I see all of them as a challenge and I always have fun doing them and hope the patron enjoys it too.
6. As you’ve written in journals and statuses on dA, you’ve had a lot of serious, sad and tragic events happen in your real life over the past year. How, if at all, has creating art helped you during those extremely difficult times?
Well, it has been very difficult to find the time to create but when I do it’s like a wonderful escape. Just for a while it feels like everything is normal again. It really is important to me to get that time away from all the sadness.
7. On several occasions, has stated that you were one of the few artists who actually helped him when he was beginning to dabble in 3D art. Why would you, a busy person creating your own art, take the time to help someone else like that?
Well, I find that all part of the fun and enjoyment of being online for me. I love to see other people enjoying themselves and creating, and seeing people develop their own unique style and then going on to become followed by lots of fans. Wonderful. Everyone is capable of making 3D art and it’s a great way to express yourself. Also, it’s something of a two way street, I learn things at the same time. I think we should all do more of it.
8. You’ve been on dA for twelve years. What do you think are the site’s best and worst aspects and, if you could make one change to DeviantArt, what would it be?
I have only been active here for a few years, I opened an account many years ago and didn’t come back until 2014. Well, I bet you think I would want to allow more explicit art don’t you, but you’d be wrong. I like things the way they are. The way it’s now you have a lovely mix. We really don’t need more 3D porn; there are other places to post that. It means we have to be more creative to make something really sexy without going too far. The way things are at the moment we get to see the art of more mainstream artists as well and I would love to see it stay that way.
For me the best aspect is DA has a huge user base opening us up to potentially millions of people.
However, the worst aspect is DA has a huge user base and you can get lost in the background noise. Catch 22?
9. What artists and/or photographers have influenced you in creating your own art?
I love fantasy art, people like Boris ‘the bum’ Vallejo, Fred Fields, Dorian Cleavenger, Tim White the Hildebrandt brothers… sheesh, the list is endless! As for 3D, in the early days Dendras and Davo definitely influenced me. I didn’t so much like their themes but I liked the way they created it. Then over the years there have been many who inspired me like Alihahd, Beton and IlGeco to name just a few.
10. What do you look for in a dA deviation in order to add it to your Favorites folder?
I really couldn’t say what triggers the reaction. They just leap out of the screen at me.
11. What image in your gallery are you most proud of and why?
Well, I kind of liked this one kristinf.deviantart.com/art/Ti… because it gets across quite an erotic feel without being coarse and overly explicit. Some of the ones I like most tend to have personal meaning to me and might relate to a real event but this one was a completely made up scenario. Yes, I have worn masquerade masks many times, but I have never hand-cuffed anyone… yet
12. Describe your creative process when you decide to make an images that has not been commissioned.
It tends to involve loud thumping dance music being pumped through my headphones, lots of tea and naughty memories. I am always full of ideas. I wake up remembering something and just have to scribble it down immediately. Also I chat to my old flatmate ‘Kate’ every Sunday and we compare notes and she often reminds me of something and again the pad and pencil come out and I scribble notes.
Sometimes I create the pose in person and often think ‘how the HELL did I do that’ as a knee or hip nearly gives out on me!
13. Have you ever received any complaints that your artwork is offensive? And, if so, how did you respond to the complaints?
I do get complaints from time to time and my attitude frequently is ‘well don’t look then’. I have been a moderator on many sites over the years and I really don’t like censorship. I have also found a lot of people who simply complain for the hell of it. However I do take notice to reasonable complaints and have been known to change tack if I thought it was justified. Some of the complaints are hilarious though. I think one of the best and goes in my ‘trolly idiots hall of fame’ -- “This is literally the most fucking racist thing i've ever seen on DA and it feels me with shame. You now it's the year 2015 and Whites are not the majority in London right? Perhaps if you pulled your head out your white privileged ass you would some diversity to this pic you fucking racist. “ You can see the picture here: kristinf.deviantart.com/art/Wa… Now THAT is an ignorant idiot and best of all is he can’t see the irony in his twitish comments. Priceless.
14. What is the most erotic element of the images you create?
Well honestly, that might not come across to the viewer, but for me it’s often if I create a pose it is from something I have done or a situation I have been in. Remembering something I did perhaps twenty years ago with that crystal clarity is quite a rush. Without getting too rude, I can really imagine I am back there to the extent I can hear, feel, smell and taste it like it happening at that moment. Also, things I post publicly are not about love. Love is a far more private thing to me. This was all about having fun, lust, being young, free and single.
15. What else do you want people on dA to know about you and your art?
Well, really I just want them to visit my site when it is up and running so they can read my blogs, that should tell them all they want to know about me.

Excellent interview and I'm sure it must be helluva informative or a lot of people!
I totally agree with what you said about DA and being forced to be creatively erotic without going too far. that's what I like about DA, and also the outreach and the chilled out people here.
Well done babes!

Thanks so much. I liked that picture as well, it actually reminds me of a masquerade party in an impressive mansion in Oxfordshire years ago. It was a lot of fun and they hired staff, waiters, waitresses etc and also half a dozen men wearing these paper mache heads. I think they were supposed to be off limits but I didn't get that meno

Kristin is one of these artists whose images I had seen from time to time, that intrigued and aroused me and made me join DA.
To me she's one of the major. With a big M, like in Major!
She can play at so many levels, both with the technical quality of her images, her short erotic texts, the sexual imagination she displays in her illustrated fantasies or the twist of humour she feeds some of her perilous, hard-sex posts.
There are so many of her images that I likeI realize she is also very diverse in her inspiration, blending drama with intense sex, humour, perilous scenario, adventure, social British reality, etc.
*I wanted to thumb some of her images to tell what drives me crazy, but the system won't accept it, thinking they're spam*
Thank you Rob, once again this is a tribute that had to be rendered, and you did it with style!
