What medium is this? The texture in the background is fascinating, as well as how vivid color is used for emphasis (I would love to achieve that in a piece of my own!).

This isssss a pencil drawing, with photoshop digital color (I use the stumpy pencil tool) with scanned acrylic and ink textures added. And a lot of time... I reworked this sucker a LOT.
