Took a while to complete this, but enjoyed doing this. The arms and armour is based on a few different cultures, and not historically accurate to anything in paticular. I had the Dacians, 4th century Romans, Anglo-Saxons and Arabians in mind when I designed the arms and armour.Related content

Predecessors of the Red Army seen in another artwork of yours? As said, i fully expect all your scattered fantasy artworks to come together in a fictive historical whole for Enedor, in due time. Few other fantasy worlds will have their various eras so well illustrated! Fascinating stuff.

I can see the Dacian in the Sword wielding Generals helmet, the rest of them look like Medieval Greek Hoplites in Roman formation. And I can see the Arab design in the plate mail armor.
All in all this is a great piece of art, I love it.

i take it that the cuirass is based off of late Roman armour, the splinted grieves and dagger from the Arabians and Persians, the sword from the Anglo-Saxons/Vikings?

I'm liking the mixture of equipment there, very unique. I have an interest in Late Roman equipment and higher-end Anglo Saxon armour and weapons, and the addition of lamellar armour is also very nice. The artwork itself is brilliant.

Nice work on both landscape and soldiers! It's an unusual touch to add birds in the picture to show that there is a world outside of the soldiery, but this makes the picture all the better for including it. It contributes to the great atmosphere!
