Description This is the first decent picture I ever took of animal. It has its problems, but I still like it.

EDIT (01-20-05): Yet more color correction. This picture was so yellow it burned my eyes just looking at it. I really need a new computer.

Lovely photo! I really like the colours and the composition, plus these shiny eyes it could have been a little less blurry (I don't know if it's the wrong focus, iso or something else because you have the data hidden) but anyway I think it's very nice

Thanks. I'm glad you like it. It's one of the first decent shots I ever took. This was taken back in 2004, so most of the blurriness is from the fact that I was using film at the time (scanning in photos on my mom's old scanner kind of destroyed the quality of a lot of my early shots). Consequently, that's also the reason there is no metadata. Don't get me wrong though -- this was a low light situation, so there's a bit of camera shake, but overwhelmingly, it was in focus.

As I remember, the specs were as follows:

Nikon N65
~200mm
f/5.6
~1/30 second, handheld, no flash

Oh, I see. That explains the situation.
I think faster shutter speed could have helped with the blur and possible imperfections caused by handshakes. But as I can see your newest photos are very pretty so you obviously know what yo do

If this photo were a little sharper, it would go into my favorites! The color choice and balance and pose are all gorgeous!

Beautiful cat in an adorable pose. Is he looking up at a bird?

A bird or a squirrel. I know they crawl around on top of his enclosure...Nothing but a mesh fence separating them.

Whatever problems this picture supposedly has, they're definately not noticable due to the gorgeous kitten like eyes of this clouded leopard. A wonderful pose also, I think you've captured the playfull feline nature of the bigger cats in the family....

Gorgeous colours and compostion!

Thank you. Sometimes I'm hypercritical of my pictures, but I guess that's the nature of the beast. I want them to be perfect, and when they aren't, it's disappointing. But this is still one of my favorites regardless.

a little blurry, but a great picture nonetheless.

Thank you. I took this picture back when I was first getting into the whole photography thing, so I wasn't using a tripod like I do now. Truth be told, I don't think I'd ever touched a tripod back then. So that's where the blur came from. Glad you like the picture otherwise.

That is really cute Love the way he's flopped on that rock/log - his expression and the way he's looking up is so cute!

Thanks. Other than the log sticking out of his head, this is one of my favorites. He was sleeping at the time when a bird or a squirrel landed on top of his enclosure. He loves eyeing them like food. Or maybe he's just curious about them. He is a very curious cat.

Hey, thanks for the comment and the watch. I do take my pictures almost exclusively at the San Antonio Zoo. I've been trying to find others on deviantART who take pictures at the San Antonio Zoo. Looks like I found another. Thanks for dropping by.

These guys are one of my favorite cats out there. They're so charismatic and full of energy, even when they're sleeping! I just love taking pictures of them. Thanks for the comment.
