This must be the closest shot I've ever seen of the beautiful and mysterious fossa, thier eyes are gorgeous...

I love the eyes too. To this day, that's the best portrait of the fossa I've gotten. Whenever I visit, they're either sleeping, or they're moving around too much to get a decent shot of them. And when I do get a chance, I'm usually shooting through the dirtiest glass you've ever seen (as was the case here). But I'll take what I can get, and I'm happy I got this picture.

Fossas are pretty rare and sercretive, so I'm not really surprised you've never seen one of them. As far as I know, fossas are so reclusive that there really isn't any super accurate population count for them yet. Some of the other pictures I have seen of fossas make them look pretty cute, so I guess they are...
