That's a great shot. It does look like she is smiling for real

Thanks! Even if it's not the most technically sound shot I've ever taken, I couldn't help but love the personality of it. Glad you like it too!

I have a similar shot somewhere, of a tiger, and this is proving everybody right who says cats can make faces.

Thanks! One of my more charismatic jaguar shots in a while, that's for sure. Glad you like it.

Thanks. As much as I love the more "proper" portraits I tend to get, a little personality here and there goes a long way. Glad you like it!

This thumbnail really stood out in my message center, such a beautiful smile I really like the 'expression' from this gorgeous animal and how she's faced towards the camera. It makes you wonder if it's a smile, just a growl or that her cheek is stuck between her teeth (which happens to my dog quite often and it's a very silly thing to see, especially when it happens on both sides haha!).
The focus is spot on on the eyes and it really draws you in. The details are very nice, I especially have a soft spot for whiskers!
I also really like the aperture you used and how it makes her stand out even more with this depth of field. The contrast is really nice. It's just a really nice shot!

Glad it jumped out at you, Anoya. It's been long enough ago now that I don't remember what exactly was going on here -- whether she was just licking her chops or finishing a yawn -- but I'm more than happy to go with just a little smirk.
I think I would have liked to get just a bit more depth of field into this if I could, maybe get the tip of her nose a smidge sharper, but I was dealing with extremely low light, so I had to take what I could get.
Thanks for the comment!Β

I don't mind the tip of her nose not being sharper, this way your focus goes to the eyes instantly
