Description
Another of my favorite water fowl, teh Ruddy Duck. These guys have some of the bluest bills I've seen on a bird. Others come close, but there is only one Ruddy Duck™.Sacramento Zoo, unfortunately not wild. -_- Still working on getting a decent shot of them out there.

Ducks can be kinda tricky to photograph... especially if you visit a refuge that has a hunting season for waterfowl. >> All of the ducks fly away at the sight of a vehicle, much less someone on foot.

That has certainly been my experience. They have the uncanny ability to stay exactly the same distance away [read: too far away], no matter what I try. I need to get me some waders, some camo, and a spine, and then go out in the water and wait for the little buggers.
