I wasn't thinking about where this was, until I finished it, and thought, one of the moons of Saturn would probably be closer to the ring plane.
Then I thought about the idea that one day, if we survive, we might want to start moving the Earth outwards, as the sun warms. At that point, we would start moving the Earth around with a gravity tractor, like a huge asteroid, with motors. If so, we might come in on a weird orbit, to avoid any plane debris.
Just a thought!
