Description Originally this was inspired by David Gerrold's novel, "The Galactic Whirpool", but I didn't have the energy and drive to make all the derelict's details match. So... this is some other lost generation ship the Enterprise happened to stumble on.

Done in DAZ Studio 3. Enterprise by Aggi with Poser conversion by Celticarchie.

oh...when did you move to D|S 3??? Did I miss that?
however, ...
I love the tininess of the mighty Enterprise in compare to that ...erm....thing. Maybe that search-light is a tiny little bit too bright ... but then again: What do _I_ know about the Enterprise's advanced technologies?
in total it's a greatly captured moment (or rather experience) of exploring!

Well I've had DS just about as long as I've known you, but my migration to it has been gradual. Almost all the Trek stuff has been DS3. I guess it's the first "body of work" using that platform.

The draw of Star Trek for me was always about "exploring strange new worlds". Unfortunately there's little ship art that really celebrates that... and too much "blowing up the Klingons Exploration and mystery has been one of the angles I've been trying to find new ways to explore with this.

Big search for spock reminder, good scene setup, I'll have to get studio and have a play will it import lightwave?

It'll import an OBJ export from Lightwave.

I was going for something sorta evocative of the Apollo ablative heat shielding.

Wonderful, the immense scale of the other ship really is brought home to the viewer.
