Description
Discovery's engines light up, in this next image from "The Leonov Project" by Drell-7 (drell-7.deviantart.com/ ) and myself. This is a cooperative project between myself and Drell-7, though its important to note that at this stage it's mostly his baby. The ship was designed by both of us, but the modeling and art is Drell-7. My current role is as a creative adviser and putting together the presentation layouts.Related content

I just finished re-reading 2010, and it's great to see these fantastic illustrations highlighting key scenes from the novel (plus the more realistic design of the Leonov).Β To everyone who worked on these--excellent work!

Now that is some quality artwork! Β It's easily as good as any promo artwork done by Hollywood. Β Β I especially like how the Β pic is centered on the series of circles.

We worked a bit to make sure Io has that "bright, oozing sore" look. It lends more drama!

this is wonderfully composed and structured and I do love what you made with the light here!
But mostly I am drawn to that...slot (?...or is it a landing bay?) in the globe which is so perfectly illuminated from the inside!
Great!

Thanks bud... though all of the image subtlety is from Tom on this one. I simply gave it a nod... and a minor tweak Glad ya like!
