1700 is the first in the ship's class - the Constitution.

This picture looks like it came right off of the TV screen in the '60s. Just breathtaking.

Good to hear! I was going for that "classic TV homage" with this one

The classics always work fine. That's WHY they're classics

True enough... though I've always enjoyed the personal challenge of "discovering new classics" - that is moving the camera around to find new but equally inspiring views of the old girl.

You have so many Star Trek/SciFi works, that it is hard to select one as a favorite, but this one epitomizes the original series. How often did we see this particular angle of the Enterprise in orbit. The only problem with the accuracy of your take is that your planet looks far more realistic! Good work and thanks for sharing.

I would agree. This one is certainly one of my most iconic Trek images....at least in terms of evoking what we experienced on TV each week.
Thanks!

Truly pushes all the right Trek ToS buttons. If you don't mind I'm going to download and print it. It would look great at my computer desk.

Fantastic view of a classically standard pose! This just looks beautifully freshened from what we'd see every week on TOS. But like any true classic, it never really goes out of style so long as it's done well. And you as usual have created this image very well indeed!!
I understand all to well on the need to take breaks from particular subject matter lest they become boring or stale to either the creator or the audience. I'll be watching anyway as so far all your art, no matter the subject is very excellent and attention grabbing. I like what you are doing with the Romulan War Years subjects. Interesting and different designs that still fit the Star Trek Universe.
As always, have fun, and happy creating!!

Well, much as I SAID I'd be taking a break, my muse had other plans
But I DO feel like I need to go explore some new areas... if only not to bore the heck outta folks.

Beautiful! Great detail on the foreground planet really pulls you into the scene. I love the sense of depth you achieve up near the Starboard nacelle, with the major elements all coming together. Definite sensawondah stuff!

Thanks. I actually tried to stay away from these tried and true angles, but I started messing with this and.... well, it just seemed to have some that transcended the usual TOS teaser shot. For me, at least. Glad ya like!
