It's amazing to think that it's 40 years this week since Star Wars was first released... can you imagine a world without it!?Here's my jokey art tribute - showing Darth Vader enjoying some liquid refreshment from the Empire's finest brewery!

Haha - that's the reaction I was hoping for! I draw Vader a lot (as you know) so I always try to think up an original way of depicting him if I can.

And that just gave me a random image of him cradling his baby son and daughter in both his arms. So dark and badass, but still with a little soft spot.

that sounds very sinister! a long time ago I sketched an idea for the child Anakin with an 'imaginary' Vader standing behind him, one hand on the boy's shoulder and the other with his lightsaber raised as though about to strike him down. It was meant as a metaphor for the evil of Vader destroying his childhood innocence. I doubt i'll ever go back and finish that picture now - but I always liked the idea!
