Description
This was banner art for the new Comics Experience website that I teach with. Andy Schmidt, creator and instructor at the site, asked for a non specific character in a sci fi genre. This was a lot of fun to do since I've not had a chance to draw this kind of thing very much. I was inspired by Travis Charest's Spacegirl comic strip when I was asked to do this. I think partly because of the horizontal widescreen format it asked for, and obviously the genre. I think that influenced me using a girl character and some of the foreground elements. The only direction I was given on these was to keep the focus and key composition to the right since the left will get covered in text on the site.
