Do you think it's ok If I adress Heinkel as "she" in Excidium. Keeping the genderless thing up is bothersome, and I do believe she is just a flat like Integra.

Ughhh I'm seriously regretting doing that joke in "Oblivion". If I had known it would cause as many problems as it did, I would never have have done it. It was just meant to be a joke about the fact that Heinkel was excluded from OVA 9 credits with all the Hellsing girls. One of those jokes you're supposed to laugh at without giving it much thought. Yet, it evolved into a serious debate over what Heinkel's gender is in the manga and OVA.
Heinkel is a girl in "Crossfire". Heinkel is probably either a girl or intersexual in the "Hellsing" manga, and we flat-out don't know what the gender is in the OVA since it's obvious the writers are trolling us (hiring a female voice actress but having her speak in a masculine tone, excluding from OVA 9 credits but drawing what appear to be very small boobs for a split-second in OVA 10). It's like the OVA writers want to imply that Heinkel kinda looks like a female but isn't really (maybe a transvestite?). -_-
Whatever the case I agree it can get annoying referring to Heinkel constantly as "he/she". Sure, you can assume Heinkel is a girl. Or, if you wish, you can do what I and the manga did - never actually have characters address Heinkel in the third person and use the words "he" or "she" to begin with.

Well, yes. It was actually an ugly rant long before the "ending credits", after that it got fired up. And joking with it is surely not helped
But that's my problem, she (and I don't care, I BELIEVE that Heinkel is girl) has to be adressed. I can't come up with enough ways to avoid characters mentioning her in third person multiple times in a conversation... not if she is going to take as much part in the story as I plan -.-

Heinkel is going to be mentioned that many times in conversations? If the plot is focused on Hellsing and Schroedinger why would so many people talk about Iscariot's trump card? I'm guessing you're really planning to give the badass bandaged gunwielder an increase in screen time and plot importance. Well, that's a good thing since it's nice to see Wolfe get more respect here than in the manga.
