Alucard is similar like Superman, just in the Monster-Version.
- Is seen as truly. invincible. due to his great Abilities and Powers.
- Is a intimidating Force if he could end in a Enemy/hostile Position.
- But it is relaxing to have around when seeing as a Force that can be an Ally.

I'm sorry if you did mention it and I forgot, but how is Heinkel, a fanatic, getting along so well with Seras and Alucard, even so far that he can be sorry for Alucard? Aren't they "protestant heathens"?

It is more like just represented. The was a 30 year off-screen timeskip. As known in the manga, Seras will not take human life. Given that, they couldn't develop such agressive rivalry as Alucard and Anderson did, as Seras never would try to hurt Heinkel (that's how I imagined it). They must have had a mission where they had to put their differences aside or Heinkel probably just got tired of fighting someone who isn't fighting back, i leave that it up to the reader's imagination

Like I said before, I believe Alucard wanted to die like that until right at the very end when he started to talk about his beloved master (Integra) and beloved servant (Seras). When Walter betrayed them he said that Walter had given the two up, meaning they where now sort of his motivation and his recovery, he had something worth having again.
