Odd thing about the martians themselves... they're only known organs are a heart, lungs, and a massive brain with intelligence far beyond humanities, or any other kind of life in the solar system, and sustain themselves using the harvested blood of other living beings whom compared to them, are that of any other animal. They're technology is so advanced that they used war machines not used for nearly 2000 years since the invasion of Earth, practically museum technology to them, and it tramples humanity without a challenge. And yet, they are the most exposed to some of the most smallest bacteria and diseases on Earth that they probably didn't have a second thought about, or thought about at all.

Another cool concept when you look at War of the Worlds, is almost like a scenario if a heavily modernized country decides to take over a land populated by indigenous peoples who have never seen any modern technology before. However, the invading country decides to use World War 1 era tanks, only probably a few or so, and within weeks, they could decimate the population due to the sheer length of knowledge between the two.
