This is basically my "X-Men" concept.

Part of the reason I think the X-Men worked so well was that they had a great mixture of design styles. Some looks went unchanged from the 60's and 70's. Others had classic styles modified and tweaked throughout the 80's and 90's. Others were straight out of 90's or 2000's fashion. The grab bag of looks and abilities really helped the team stand out, and it's no reason why practically every team book from the 90's tried to replicate their look and success.

For this I tried to reverse engineer that sort of concept- have a mix of styles that were influenced by stuff from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's, or looked like they could have been classic looks that were modified over time.

The "backstory" concept is that the group is the result of this mass empowering event that affected a 1/10th of 1% of the worldwide population. As a result this new group of people find themselves as "Outcasts" from society and must fight to protect themselves from the more aggressive aspects of humanity, as well as protect humanity from those newly empowered inviduals who seek to use their powers for their own gain.

The roster is as follows:

Destroyer- A young hispanic man who can create destructive waves of energy, and has learned to channel them into powerful offensive blasts. His look is inspired by those classic looks from the 60's that woudl feature later modifications over time, with the red jacket with the flared color being something that would most definitely come from the 80's.

Magnetica- A young woman with the ability to control magnetic fields and de-facto team leader. Her look is inspired by classic 70's designs, looking more like high fashion than a superhero costume.

Tank- A parapalegic who was given incredible strength due to the event. Tank gets around using modified unit that allows him to traverse practically any terrain. His look is inspired by the classic Neal Adams type of looks from the late 60's that would largely go unchanged.

Succubus- A demure young woman transformed into a fierce demonic looking creature that granted her such abilities like flight and fire breath. Inspired by the Dave Cockrum style design prominent in the 70's and 70's.

Lash- A young woman granted the abilitiy to create energy ribbons that she has learned to shape into lashes that can be used to bind or attack opponents. Blatantly cripped from a previous concept, here repurposed to serve the role of the 90's "Spokesbabe" that characters like Rogue or Psylocke would inhabit.

Sureshock- A diminutive man given the ability to channel powerful electrical fields. Another design inspired by the Dave Cockrum style designs of the 70's and 80's.

Saber- A martial artist transformed into a tiger like humanoid. Serves the role of the "Beast man" archetype seen on these teams.

Infernus- The "Wolverine" of the team. A young woman who was given the ability to transform into a massive, flame skulled form that grants her incredible strength, durability and the ability to fire destructie thermal blasts.
