Description This male Common Goldeneye was freshen up its plumage surrounded by several of its kind.

A bit different and more common than the Barrow's Goldeneye ([link] ), they still bread in the same sort of habitats.

They are considered as "diving ducks" compared to "dabbling ducks" : the first ones dive to fish, the second ones mainly feed by dabbling theirs bills. Also the first ones takes off directly from the waters (their wing surface is usually bigger), and second ones have to paddle on the surface of the water to take off (like our seaplanes ).

Diving ducks are more sea ducks and dabbling ducks are more inland ducks (This is a main tendance).

Robin, this is an awesome capture!! You have obviously have studied you subjects and it is reflected in your fantastic work. I would like to add to my watch list if that would be acceptable?

Off Course Richard,

Thank you very much for the comment.

Yes, it's been a while that I walk in nature, almost every day of my life : and it's increadible what we can learn of wild animals behaviours, much more than we can expect, I would even say that we even learn on ourself and our own deep Nature.

I'd probably say that this knowledge, combined to countless time, is more important for wildlife photography than a big expensive lens !

Take care,
