Description "Go ahead, zap me!  I'll just send it right back at ya!"

Growing up in a city where disaster can strike at the drop of a hat is never easy, especially for Leslie Willis.  Growing up in a city like Metropolis, she was accustomed to supervillains going on a rampage at a moment's notice, as reporting on such cases was one of her duties as a part-time DJ for the radio station her family owned.  Sometimes, she would make the most amusing commentaries, while at others she would go so far as to try and humble Superman himself, just to get a reaction out of him.  Yet her indifference towards such heroes and villains changed when the Justice League came to Metropolis in order to face a triad of super-criminals calling themselves the four elementals: Volcana, Weather Wizard, Icicle and Brick.  During the battle, Weather Wizard summoned the mother of all thunderstorms in an attempt to distract his own enemy, the Flash.  Yet one of the bolts of lightning aimed right for a crowd that gathered to watch the battle, and Leslie was right in the thick of it.  Seeing innocent civilians in danger, Superman used himself as a shield to deflect the bolt, allowing time for the bystanders to flee to safety.  Unfortunately, the electricity arced off the Man of Steel and proceeded to hit Leslie as she tried to flee, sending a billion volts shocking throughout her body.

Yet the girl never died that day.  In fact, she survived, but the electrocution not only traumatized her, but it also changed her metabolism completely; awakening the meta-gene that had long been dormant inside her.  Believing herself to be a monster and a freak, Leslie blamed Superman and the Justice League for her condition, swearing revenge against them for ruining her life.  And so was born Livewire!  For a time, Livewire was an enemy of both the JLA and Superman, and she proved herself to be quite powerful.  The League tried to talk some sense into her, in order to have her listen to reason, but Leslie refused to heed their words.  Though these talks would come back to haunt her with a vengeance when, during one of their clashes, she nearly succeeded in defeating Superman.  Yet before the final blow could be struck, Livewire's electrical powers suddenly began activating on their own.  Yet one of those Leaguers present in the fight was Wally West, AKA the Flash.  When he saw the expression of fear on Livewire's face, instantly he knew what was happening, and called for help from the rest of the Titans.  Together, they were able to finally help Leslie regain control over her powers, and in the process they were able to clear her head.  It turned out that the more electricity she absorbed, the more irrational she acted.  Ultimately, Supergirl was able to have a heart-to-heart with Livewire, and the Kryptonian Titan's words spoke true.  After Supergirl told her of how training and learning to control her powers with metahumans her own age would be beneficial, Leslie accepted the chance to not only learn to control her powers, but also to have some semblance of the life she once had.  Thus,  Livewire redeemed herself from juvenile enemy of the Justice League to the newest member of the Teen Titans!

So, with this take on Livewire, the idea of her being a Teen Titan was brought up by , and it also pays homage to her character arc before the New 52.  In the pre-New 52, Livewire started out as a villainess, but eventually reformed and became an ally of Superman and his team.  I also loved the outfit she wore in Young Justice: Outsiders, so I decided to go with that, but with some slight modifications.  The thigh high boots are inspired by the costume she wore in Superman: The Animated Series (which was where she made her debut).  As for her tattoo, suggested that she could have a lightning bolt tattoo on her chest, but I also drew a lightning bolt themed "L" on her utility belt's buckle, as a homage to the very same one that was on the costume she wore in the comics before the New 52.  Now, for Livewire's hair, I was actually inspired by the hairstyle of Karin Uzumaki in Naruto Shippuden, and I figured it would be fitting for Leslie, since she's very much into punk rock.

As a student at Titans Academy, Livewire is the best friend of Static, Wonder Girl, Lightning, Mist, Windfall, Galatea and Ms. Martian.  She is also a member of the school's martial arts and newspaper clubs, as well as the mentee of Supergirl, as a way to make up for blaming Superman for the accident that transformed her into the superhero she is now. Livewire also is great friends with Crush, as the two are also part of the light music club, and they always love to jam out together, considering that she has a stellar singing voice.

Disclaimer:  Livewire belongs to D.C. Comics, Bruce Timm and Paul Dini.

Well Livewire’s a bit of a tsundere. After she lost control of her powers, she had an emotional breakdown from the trauma of both losing control and being struck by the lightning bolt that made her a metahuman. So coming to Titans Academy really brought her out of her comfort zone, and she’s making some amazing friends.

I haven’t even made Volcana’s backstory yet. Even if I did, I wouldn’t reveal it here so as to spoil the audience.

Leslie came out great. Even the pose she's in; she looks like she's high-kicking someone (possibly some villain).

I’m glad to hear it! Someone commented as to whether she would be Static’s ideal girlfriend, given they have similar powers. Now we originally agreed that Static would be Jessie Quick’s boyfriend, but perhaps maybe it’s worth reconsidering. As for her kick, it’s definitely either some villain, or she’s practicing in the dojo used by the Martial Arts club. I decided to add her as a member since all the Titans need to know the basics of hand to hand combat, both armed and unarmed.

I still think Virgil and Jessie can be a couple. Leslie is usually seen as a Lesbian (that was even hinted at in the Young Justice cartoon), so that's how it could be for your version of her. There is a character who I think would work well with Leslie. She could be together with one of the Red Elemental girls; specifically the areokinetic Traya. In the comics, Traya was from Bialya which is the country Queen Bee rules over. Since it's a dictatorship, Traya could've grown up being very reserved, and that would only increase after her Red conversion. Once the League and the Titans find and free her and the other three Reds, she'd still have that reservedness to her, and that's where Leslie could help. Leslie is very outspoken, and could help Traya open up. In turn, given what she went through growing up in Bialya, Traya could help Leslie to learn not to be so self centered.

Hmm. That’s a possibility, or she could be the girlfriend of either Mist, or I could see her even having Cube as a boyfriend. I feel that the two would really get along, given that she could help recharge his power cell if it runs too low, and it could also be history repeating itself. I’m also thinking that Defacer could help Leslie get over the trauma of being struck by lightning.

I still think Traya could be a good fit for Leslie. As for Cube, he could be together with Carol Bucklen; she has a genius level IQ, and quantum powers, so she could help him recharge (she'd have the powers for it, and the knowledge of how to do it safely).

Very well, I could get behind the idea of Livewire being a lesbian. And Cube and Monarch getting together does sound like a better match, given their genius intellect and the safer recharge method.

Sounds good. As for Cube and Monarch, I also figured that with their intellects, they could be cute science nerds together.

Like Atom and Enigma! Now, I’m having a bit of trouble with Giganta’s origin and backstory. There are just quite a bit to choose from that I may need some help coming up with one for my take on her.

Thanks! She did start out as a villain, but later became a hero in the comics, until the New 52 came along...

Would she and Static maybe get into a romance? I can kind of see it.

Actually, Static is in a relationship with Jessie Quick, while Livewire actually is the girlfriend of Traya Sutton (Red Tornado's surrogate daughter).
