Here's another I like, but unfortunately he never seems to be working on amnything I'd read. He's done some Starship Troopers stuff and most notably offerings in the Star Wars serials. He also did the art chores on the Stark Hyperspace War. Check out Davide Fabri and frequent collaborator (read: inker)Christina Dalla Vecchia.
Marini has two popular titles that have been translated. Raptors/ Rapaces and Gipsy.
Vatine did Aquablue and adapted Timothy Zahn's Star Wars: Heir to the Empire novel for Dark Horse.

never mind i just posted the answer in my tutorial 2. the answer is it's a simple way to lead the viewers eyes where you want them to look.

i'm not familiar with dayak. but if you're drawing something i'm interested love the background. (whatever happened to that comic you were drawing? when i first looked at the image, i thought it was a new page from that!)
