Don't you hate it when you're just trying to enjoy a refreshing drink from the stream and suddenly something rusting in the bushes disturbs the peace?Hope that squirrel makes it out alright.
Trying to work more on fully fleshed-out backgrounds... It's a start!

Nice use of light and shadow here, it makes for a nice atmosphere, it really does feel like a quiet, secluded pond in the forest to me. The ripple effect on the water is fine, but the rest of the water could have used some more texture. Nice work, keep challenging yourself.

Yeah I was really rushing the whole background pretty much. Although I wanted there to be a scene, I was mostly looking for the excuse to draw a dragon hahaha. I'll certainly start working more on straight up landscapes soon for practice. Thank you for the comment!
