Description
It been a while since I focused a lot of time and energy onto one picture and thought it was about time to push myself. Since the last couple of deviations I’ve submitted where all black and white I decide to try and put a little colour into my work. The theme is competition, a fellow friend of mine recently submitted a work that looked awesome, I felt like I was getting a bit lax with my own work so I did this.

In total:
A hour sketch in pencil and pen.
20 hours plus on Photoshop and Illustrator.
115 layers used.

notes: This piece consist of 115 layers, of which about 30 of I didn’t use in the end. I have a tendency of not deleting layers I don’t use and duplicating layers just in case I mess up. All the illustrator work now can’t be seen, after a while I changed my mind on what the paint should look like.

Heres the updated version without the spiral and with a couple of lines added. Colours on the face, scarf and cloths are lightened as well. Extra hour on photoshop.
