The Puzzle effect is the result of a filter applied using Photoshop.
I think it's part of the Eye Candy Plugin.
I'll find out exactly what it is if you want to get it, to use...

The Plugin is called "Alien Skin Xenofex 2".
It is that plugin that allows you to apply additional filters to Photoshop.
Each effect is fully configurable, in its own little window.
Effects include; Electrify, Rip Open, Cracks, Puzzle and lots more.
