Note: Another ground tank by me, but since there is already the TIE ap-1/TIE Mauler, then I decided to do the next model, as well as finish off the product line for good.
Extra Note: Credits is the Star Wars Currency.
Update: I have changed the background from Dark Green to White.
Update 2: I have altered the side view of the stretched out wheel treads.

The TIE ap-2 (a.k.a. the TIE Exploration Tank) was the penultimate in the TIE ap Series, as well as the penultimate of the TIE Tanks, and even the last of the TIE Tank Project, of the Galactic Empire and Sienar/Santhe Technologies. A month after the Battle of Yavin 4 in the year 0 ABY, Moff Kohl Seerdon (of Legends and of Star Wars Rogue Squadron Videogame, and of Chandrila) studied the past and recent TIE Tank Projects: the TIE ap-0/TIE Tankertron (my OC ), the TIE ap-1/TIE Mauler (a nickname by Rebels and Imperials, and a Legends creation), and the TIE Century Tank/TIE Crawler (even though it wasn't in the TIE ap Series, but was in the TIE Tank Project, and is also a Legends creation), as well as the failed All-Terrain Exploration Droid (Robot) (AT-ED) (of Cybot Galactica and Kuat Drive Yards), in an effort to come up with his own idea for a tank. Since the death of Admiral Yularen and his Elite Imperial Task Force (EITF) on board the Death Star I, Seerdon had to create his own task force and use them, to create the next best tank in the Imperial War Machine Effort. To impress the cruel, cold-hearted, and dead on the inside Moff Seerdon (although Grand Admiral Ishin-Il-Raz of the Commission of the Preservation of the New Order (formerly Commission for the Protection of the Republic), and Grand Admiral Pitta, were the most evilest war criminals (of Legends as well) who were far worse than Seerdon was, although Seerdon was a total a***hole anyways), Seerdon's task force studied the works of the TIE Experimental Project and incorporated some ideas into their latest creation, which they hoped would salvage the stalled TIE ap Series and stalled TIE Tank Project, whilst giving a major boost for TIE Tanks in imperial factories. This creation was the TIE Exploration Tank, which was announced to be the successful replacement to the AT-ED, that had three elements of the TIE Experimental Project. The first element was the stand support from the TIE Experimental M5/TIE Booster, which were used to support the weapons, as well as to bridge the wheels and the entire tank together. The second element was the nose and tail end from the TIE Experimental M4/TIE Bomb, with the tail end used as a booster for the tank, and the nose end used as Anti-Climb Electric Cones on the tank tread contraptions, that had electricity discharge from it if climbed on by non-imperial personnel. "There is the antennae from the CIS AAT tank for communication with other imperial vehicles." noted an electrician, before Moff Seerdon said "Yes. we need to milk those CIS tech bone dry, as we are superior to robots.", as he went to inspect more of the tank. One Imperial Machinist said "If ever the tank were to fall on one side, the electrical discharge from the cones will right it quickly, meaning that pushing this vehicle over will no longer be a problem. The long wheel bodies would stretch to make sure that the tank stays upright, whilst the springs will move in tune to the uneven terrain. The front and rear wheels will go forward and up to stop the tank falling over. In times of peace, the forward and backward stands would go straight to join the middle stand, but in times of battle the forward and backward stand would go diagonal, in order to stop the TIE Exploration Tank from falling over.", and that made Seerdon smile nicely. The final element was the Cockpit and Turbo Laser of the TIE Experimental M1/TIE Bizarro, which were on top of the upward support stands, and could swivel around in ball sockets, in order to hit targets more accurately. The entire team introduced the finished TIE Exploration Tank vehicle a month later in 0 ABY, and proclaimed it to be better than the AT-ED, which made Seerdon smile quickly. When Seerdon studied it closer he was impressed by some interesting details: the TIE Bizarro Cockpits were shrunk down, and converted into Duel Faced Orb Turrets, since there was another Turbo Laser at the back of each turret, plus, one tank tread contraption on each side of the TIE Exploration Tank, had a stand each for 1 Duel Faced Orb Turret. Seerdon then asked an engineer from his task force (called Henry Rothy) and asked "Why the six red eyes on each turret?", and Rothy replied "We used a robot brain of an Old Republic Clone Army Prowler 1000 Exploration Droid (Robot), so that they can detect any rebel threats. The pilot also has more time to shoot and look forward. Finally, the stands holding up the Orb Turrets can right the TIE ap-2 Exploration Tank if it got knocked sideways, and the six wheels of the tank have two wheels per leg in order to stay balanced at all times.". Pleased by the response, Seerdon looked at the three Anti-Climb Electric Cones on the first tank tread compartment, before looking at the other tank tread compartment. He then studied the Medium Duty Duel Faced Laser Orb Cannon, then finally asked "Is it the same with the Medium Duty Duel Faced Laser Or Cannon, and what about those red eyes inside the tank tread compartments?". An electrician (called Bob Reklop) said "For the Anti-Climb Electric Cones for the defense system of the tank tread compartments, we have used three robot brains of three T0-D Interrogation Droids (Robots)/Buggy Droids (Robots) in each compartment to power the cones, and for the orb laser cannon, a CIS Seeker Droid (Robot), so that they can give the pilot any heads up on what to encounter next.". "Excellent. Torture, seeker, and prowler, for a tank. That is better than that abysmal abomination AT-ED. This is definitely something strong replacing something weak (similar to what he said to Kasen Moor (of Legends, who was an Imperial Pilot turned Rebel Pilot ) in the videogame, and I am not joking, look on YouTube for Rogue Squadron gameplay, since I am not making this up), such as that AT-ED pile of s***e I can't stop hating enough of.", was the response that Seerdon gave before he ordered his task force to test it, as he wanted to impress everyone with this latest creation. Performing perfectly well on a test site on Geonosis, where the TIE Exploration Tank (piloted by a human AT-ST pilot) took out Imperial AATs (of Legends, which were a modified but weaker version of the CIS Trade Federation AAT, which appeared in the 2005 Star Wars Battlefront II in debug hack mod, since it was cut from the final process, but not deleted altogether) (that were piloted by Practice Droids (Robots)) and AT-TEs (that were also piloted by Practice Droids (Robots)), Emperor Darth Sidious/Sheev Palpatine/The Emperor, congratulated Moff Seerdon and his task force, before promoting the task force into an elite task force, and demanding that the TIE Exploration Tank be mass produced immediately. For a short while, the TIE Exploration Tank was making progress in the fields of scouting, exploration, patrol work, and escort duty, as well as partaking in battles alongside the TIE Tankertron, the TIE Mauler, and the TIE Crawler. After successfully phasing out the AT-ED a few years later in 4 ABY, the TIE Exploration Tank gave way to the ap-3 TIE Roller (which I am working on) and the Mark V Sentry Drone (IM5) (that I am also working on), which would be the last of the project. Then things took a turn for the worse when Moff Seerdon was killed by Luke Skywalker in 1 ABY on Thyferra, leaving his elite task force to serve under Moff Jerjerrod, who was appointed the task to oversee the comeback of the TIE Tank Project, the TIE ap Series, and the Death Star II construction. Despite this minor setback, the TIE Exploration Tank continued to perform extremely well in imperial campaigns, even gaining the favour of the Rebel Pilot turned Imperial Storm Commando Sarkli (of Legends, and of Rogue Squadron III Rebel Strike), who used the TIE Exploration Tank on a number of occasions to lead imperial forces in victorious missions. Unfortunately things went from bad to worse, after the Battle of Endor which saw the death of Sarkli at the hands of Han Solo, as well as the ensuing chaos after the temporary death of Sidious, and the deaths of Jerjerrod with his elite task force (formerly Seerdon's) on the Death Star II. The TIE ap Series as well as the TIE Tank Project was saved by Moff Goujon, who created the TIE Roller that gave the Galactic Empire a new reason to be feared with. When Kerred Santhe (CEO of Santhe Corporation and part of the Sienar/Santhe Technologies) was assassinated a few years later, the TIE ap Series and the TIE Tank Project was now in the hands of Moff Goujon, until his demise in 13 ABY. Even after all that hardship, the TIE Exploration Tank continued to be produced and used in missions alongside its tank brethren, with ups and downs coming and going as events and changes of the Star Wars Galaxy, shaped the face of the former Galactic Empire. The TIE Exploration Tank continued to be in service, well into 280+ ABY, when one TIE Exploration Tank on Felucia was investigating a disturbance in a forest.
The following report goes as recorded:
Upon closer investigation, the AT-ST Pilot of the TIE Exploration Tank saw a crashed ship that he had never seen before and waited for something to show up, and to his surprise, out of the entrance stumbled a weird looking robot pirate, that had a thin body, but a massive head with a large cloth tri-corner pirate captain hat, and a thin neck to bridge the two together. The Pirate proclaimed loudly: "Ahoy land lubbers! This be Captain Romulus Slag: Scourge of Polaris, and Almighty Pirate Captain all grogged out on lovely grog.", whilst the AT-ST Pilot radio contacted an imperial outpost for further instructions. An Imperial Speeder Bike Patrol showed up to give Captain Slag a ride, whilst the TIE Exploration Tank followed suit, and they all arrived at the imperial outpost where a Sidious impersonator (not a clone or doppelgänger) (who was appointed the emperor of the Imperial Remnant by reasons classified by Imperial High Command, whilst his name was Sortuil Miusdref, and who was force sensitive) awaited to hear how Captain Slag got here. Captain Slag, who was too drunk to tell the difference between a regular Stormtrooper and a Loader Seeker Drone (which was like an Old Republic Prowler 1000 Exploration Seeker Droid (Robot), but with the parts of the T0-D Interrogation Droid (Robot)/Buggy Droid (Robot), and with parts of the Prowler 1000 Exploration Droid (Robot)), eventually explained his entire story of how he got here. "I had to betray and murder me best mate Rusty Pete (since he was a head on a stick, or 'Slag on a Stick', due to the story of the Ratchet and Clank Future Series), by using my own stick of a neck to crush Pete's head to pieces, so I could insert my neck into Pete's body, thus gaining full control of a temporary body (which Captain Slag held onto, with dreams of finding the next perfect body to call his own, but never did find a new body, as we will find out now in a few seconds). After burning the remains of Pete's head, I was low on grog and a means to get off of this planet. So I: Captain Slag decided to go steal meself a ship. At a ship site on the Planet Kerwan, I: Captain Slag managed to steal a lovely supply ship that held grog and other forms of alcohol. However, this attracted the attention of the Polaris authorities as well as Ratchet and Clank. In order to get rid of them of my tail for good, I: Captain Slag, had to fly me ship into a random black hole, thinking it was a safe place to hide (as this tactic only just worked, with the Polaris authorities unable to find him, and with Ratchet and Clank moving onto bigger and better quests). However, I: Captain Slag reappeared from a white hole in the centre of this dimension (the Star Wars Galaxy, of the Star Wars Universe, meaning a parallel universe) (this is possibly for Infinities more than Legends, since the Star Wars Galaxy has a black hole at the centre). To avoid detection from all manner of threats that took an interest in me, I had to fly to this weird looking shroom of a planet (Felucia), before crashing on it's face with a loud thud. I was overdosed of drinking lovely grog and being heavily under the influence of alcohol that I love.". Whilst listening to this entire story, the Sidious impersonator managed to read Captain Slag's mind to see what he was like, before Captain Slag proposed an alliance of his empire (which was totally non-existent and all dead, thanks to Ratchet and Clank ) to the Imperial Remnant. Unfortunately, the Sidious Impersonator was not at all impressed and managed to unleash a powerful river of Sith Force Lightning, that electrocuted the still drunk Captain Slag to death. As the hateful Sidious Impersonator was listening to Captain Slag screaming and wailing for help, the Sidious Impersonator smiled and continued to torture Captain Slag, until the robot pirate disintegrated into dust, patches of leather, droplets of grog, and tiny pieces of scrap metal. After the event, an imperial officer told the Sidious Impersonator that they had towed Slag's ship into the imperial base, and the Sidious Impersonator ordered the ship to be turned into scrap metal to be used as construction material, for parts that were ultimately used for the World Devastator Mark II Project (which was based off of the world devastator project, and a secret CIS plan involving Wat Tambor's two task forces, which were working on a B4 Titan Battle Droid (Robot)), whilst the grog was sent to the last remnants of the Hutt Empire (since the Yuzong Vhong had nearly destroyed them in Legends), the large cutlass sword and cannonball pistol be used for imperial weapon development research, and the remains of Slag, with Pete's body, the droplets of grog from Slag, and Slag's Captain hat, were to be incinerated immediately. There is still yet to be some more info, but the imperial archives are slow at updating so expect updates, but in the far future in about ten years or so (but only in the Star Wars Legends and/or Infinities universes ).
Imperial information ends here.
So, what do you think?
I just wanted to use the odd parts of the TIE Experimental M1, M4, and M5, to help build my creation, but I will use parts of both the M2 TIE Big Gun and the M3 TIE Warhead in my future pictures one day. I also like my OC the TIE Experimental M0 a.k.a. the TIE Mine, which completes the TIE Experimental Project family .
Also, I wanted to expand more on the TIE Tank mythology, since Wookieepedia only mentioned a TIE ap-1/TIE Mauler, but not any other TIE ap Tanks since the TIE Century Tank/TIE Crawler was not a TIE ap Tank, so I created both the TIE ap-0/TIE Tankertron (see the TIE ap-0 a.k.a. TIE Tankertron for more info), and the TIE ap-2 a.k.a. TIE Exploration Tank, with the made up project: the TIE Tank Project, and series: the TIE ap Series.
Plus, I wanted to stop at ap-2, since a) I wanted to have something realistic instead of making other weird tanks, b) I want to work on other non-Star Wars project drawings of my own, and c) I don't want to hog all the ap series to myself, and this is where the wonderful world of Deviantart and its Deviantartists come in, to make their own creations and inventions for their own stories and fictions .
Finally, Captain Angstrom Darkwater is my favourite Robot Pirate Captain, (as well as Mr and Mrs Admiral Razorbeard of Rayman), as I never really liked Slag and Pete, and I do kinda like Sprocket (of Tools of Destruction and Quest for Booty).
Oh, and the idea of the Sidious Impersonator came from the Handsome Jack Doppelgägner Timothy Jenkins (Borderlands The Pre-Sequel), who was an impersonator of Handsome Jack and not a clone, since doppelgägner is a type of clone, and Timothy Jenkins had surgery to become a Jack look-a-like, plus, Darth Sidious and Handsome Jack could be the perfect couple of evil, with Sidious a military dictatorship emperor, and Jack a CEO corporate despot, also, there is a Legends story (of 1982) that Darth Vader found an actor (real name unknown) to become an Obi Wan Kenobi impersonator to lure Luke into a trap (of the Iron Tower of the Planet Aridus), but the actor turned good and warned Luke of the trap to steer him away from Vader, and the impersonator believing he should do good like the real Kenobi did, got killed by Vader once Luke got away, and that actor would be like Timothy Jenkins since they both underwent surgery to look like other people.
This was easier than my last OC Fan picture, like definitely a lot better to make.
One more thing, the two task forces of Wat Tambor could be combined in a 'what if' alternate Infinities universe, since the first task force made the B3 Ultra Battle Droid (Robot), and the second task force made the C3B Cortosis Battle Droid (Robot), and imagined what if Wat Tambor put them both together, to make something really cool and awesome .
I am working on the TIE Roller at a later date, but it will be the last TIE ap that I will make, and it will have the Mark V Sentry Drone (IM5).
