The TIE/D (a.k.a. TIE Drone) was the Pure Galactic Empire's new invention to help with construction work, and was a massive great contribution to the Pure Galactic Imperial 'Grand War Machine Effort', due to large amount of construction projects being completed more than before. Introduced in 49 ABY, the TIE/D was the inspiration from the TIE/esc Pod, with one feature of the TIE/rc Target, and a lesser version of systems of the TIE/D Raptor. The drone's main job was either construction or general maintenance work, and it was reliant on its own without any computer control core needed, giving the TIE/D plenty of time to complete various and complex missions at a time without any problems. A single red eye at the back of the drone was for security purposes in case there were intruders in imperial areas of work, whilst the front of the TIE/D have five red eyes for detailed construction, welding, building, and maintenance precision, whilst carrying out tasks that would frustrate and hold back the effort of imperial engineers, construction workers, planners, and other imperial workforce personnel. Each imperial construction area, imperial ship, imperial base, imperial garrison, and classified areas, would have about 100,000 TIE/Ds doing various missions to uphold the Pure Galactic Imperial work percentage of completion, as well as to continue the endless cycles of construction and maintenance. Each arm had an inbuilt welding torch for when the drone was holding lots of stuff in place, to weld them together at once without putting anything down to pick up any welding torch, which living humans would do since they didn't have the amount of arms the TIE/D had. Both forearms of the drone would split into six forearms, with the welding torch in between the two forearms on each arm, a feature similar (and nearly identical) to the arms of the CIS Cyborg General Grievous (the one from Legends and Infinities, as well as from the old Star Wars: Clone Wars two volume tv show from 2003-2005 , that featured the skilled talents of the makers of Samurai Jack, Ben 10, and Dexter's Laboratory ), that inspired the imperial engineers to come up with the welding torch, split forearm, arm idea (although the upper arms did not split into six upper arms, and Grievous could only split his arms into four skinny arms). Even when not holding lots of I-Beams at once, the drones could still pick up tools that living humans could do, although the TIE/Ds would rarely use the welding torches of the toolboxes, if the welding torch arms weren't working at all. Percentage completion of maintenance and construction by the drones was around 25%-57%, bringing up the general imperial completion of maintenance and construction by 33%. If an imperial area came under attack, let alone was infiltrated by intruders that were spotted by the rear eye of the drones, then the TIE/Ds would have to go into hiding to avoid being stolen as well as destroyed, as each drone was valuable for profiteers, let alone easy targets for people who want to undermine imperial efforts completely. The TIE/D continuned to be in service well into 400+ ABY, when smuggled reports from a stolen and badly beat up drone revealed minute classified information, that the Pure Galactic Empire was secretly building the Death Star IV (since the Death Star III existed in Legends, as well as the Death Star Prototype, and other super weapons of mass destruction such as the Sun Crusher ) with the help of millions of TIE/Ds, and other imperial workforces with technological renovations. There is still yet to be some more info, but the imperial archives are slow at updating so expect updates, but in the far future in about ten years or so (but only in the Star Wars Legends and/or Infinities universes ).

Imperial information ends here.

So, what did you think?

I enjoyed the idea of having Grievous like arms, to make this drone more unique to the Star Wars Universe.

It was fun as well as hard to make the arms at both sides for the front and back pictures, let alone getting the size of both sides right with the arm at the side view in the centre picture.
