Description   Robot972: In the shooter genre, there are all sorts of guns, gun classes, and ammunition.
Sparks: But one type of gun stands out amongst the rest like a sore thumb; elemental guns.
Robot972: Who wouldn’t love to have an element-controlling gun? Imagine shooting fire, ice, electricity, and so many more elements at your opponents! Who cares if you piss them off?
Sparks: Speaking of elemental wielders who piss off the opposing team, and sometimes their own team, we have two of the most well known here today.
Robot972: From shooters old and new, we have Pyro, the happy rainbow hellfire devil of the RED Team.
Sparks: And Mei, Overwatch’s top climatologist.
Robot972: I’m Robot, he’s Sparks, and it’s our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and abilities, to see who would win a Death Battle.
--------------------
Robot972: Just to make this clear, Pyro’s gender is unconfirmed, but for the sake of simplicity, I will be referring to them with masculine pronouns
--------------------
Robot972: Long ago, brothers Redmond and Blutarch convinced their father to buy a large, empty portion of New Mexico. Their father hated them for it, and after dying, he only left them the land they convinced him to buy for them, which they had to share.
Sparks: This led to a long-term war between the two brothers. They hired mercenaries to fight over the land. Blutarch hired a top engineer to build him a life-extending device, who the administrator at the time convinced to build one for Redmond as well.
Robot972: This war continued on for 50 years, going through 3 groups of mercenaries, until now.
Sparks: The mercenaries all stayed in the same 9 categories. You had the speedy Scout, the genius Engineer, the powerhouse Heavy-
Robot972: And the best mercenary of all; The monstrous Pyro!
About Pyro
"That thing", Flash Fryer, the Pyre of Wild Fire, The Napoleon of Napalm, the Arsonist Assassin, The Sultan of Scorch
  Gender: Pyro
  Species: Pyro
  Type: Offensive
  Occupation: Mercenary, Former CEO
  Possibly eats people

Robot972: No one knows who this “person” is, or where he even came from. All we know is that he is crazy.
Sparks: And not in the way you’d think. If you were to see everything from the way Pyro does, you wouldn’t see a blood-soaked battlefield. You’d see a happy field full of flowers, rainbows, etc…
  Robot972: Sounds familiar, eh Sparks?
Feats
Arguably, one of the most threatening and imposing of the RED Team, to the point where his own team is afraid of them
-The Same people who were relatively unfazed upon hearing the fact that they had three days to live
--The unshakable, fears-no-man Heavy, who took out an entire garrison of Soviet prison guards and tortured them to death at a young age, admits to fearing the Pyro
Without anyone helping him, massacred the entirety of the BLU Team whilst slowly burning a town to the ground
Has fought all over the world including in Space and through Hell itself
With his team, fought in the Gravel Wars
Alongside his fellow mercenaries, defeated Greyman's robot battalion
Became a temporary, yet successful, CEO after the mercenaries were fired for a brief period
Can survive several zombie waves, if his guest appearance in Killing Floor is to go by
In the Halloween events, assisted in taking down Monoculus, Merasmus and the Horseless Headless Horsemann
Alongside his fellow mercenaries, defeated a Giant Bread Monster
Beat Heavy in the Meet Your Match war

Robot972: Pyro is arguably the most threatening and terrifying mercenary on the team, as if possibly eating humans wasn’t disturbing enough. I mean, even Heavy, the “fears-no-man” behemoth, who tortured an entire garrison of Soviet prison guards to death at a young age, fears the Pyro.
Sparks: And for good reason. Pyro burns through anything that gets in his way, whether it be his teammates, robot versions of the mercenaries that are superior to the mercenaries in every way, zombies, skeletons, the Horseless Headless Horsemann, or even the wizard Merasmus.
Strength
While preferring to use his weapons, is no slouch in close quarters combat
Able to lug around his Flamethrower, a flare gun or a shotgun and an axe without discomfort
Can swing around a slightly weathered railroad sign with no trouble
In some instances, can swing his axe hard enough to knock back most of the mercenaries flat on their back
Was able to easily cut off the Soldier's hand
If his Killing Floor appearance is something to go by, can slice apart ZEDs with nothing but a combat knife
Should be stronger than Scout, who is able to go toe to toe with the Heavy
Easily mutilated a Russian bear to the point where it's head was a puddle of blood and launched bone shards everywhere
-In comparison, a Russian bear's head wasn't injured in the slightest when Scout slammed a bone hard enough to break in two
Strong enough to violently uproot a mailbox and use it as a weapon
Kicked open a wooden door without discomfort
Should be stronger than the Sniper, who can shoot his Huntsman arrows hard enough to embed them in rock and metal surfaces.
In Meet The Pyro, easily caved his axe into the Heavy's face
-Heavy can easily tackle down a reinforced door and is considered the strongest among the nine mercenaries

Robot972: Pyro is strong for a supposed human. He can easily kick open a wooden door and lodge his axe in Heavy’s skull; You know, the person who can easily tackle down a reinforced metal door?
Sparks: Pyro also, in the middle of a car ride, cut off Soldier’s hand.
Robot972: With what though, no one knows.
Sparks: Pyro also mutilated a Russian Bear’s skull, leaving it as a puddle of blood and throwing the skull shards everywhere. The shards were so violently thrown, that they even risked hitting Soldier, who was several yards away.
Durability
Can withstand being around a town engulfed in flame without no trouble
Was knocked across a room by a spaceship and was able to get up
Should be more durable than Scout, the most frail mercenary, at the very least
-Scout, who was already bruised beforehand, was able to survive being in the epicenter of three rocket blasts
Has endured traveling a long distance to get on top of a Siberian mountain
-In comparison, Soldier was having a hard enduring it
Can take several bullet shots ranging from revolvers, pistols, submachine guns to even the Heavy's minigun
Able to take numerous electrical shots from the Engineer's Short Circuit
Thanks to his asbestos-lined suit, can take a steady stream of flamethrower and flare gun shots from other Pyros
Can fight in space with no worse for wear.
Being doused in milk from cows infused with sweet, wholesome thermonuclear radiation doesn't seem to hinder him
-Exposure to thermonuclear radiation can cause visible burn marks
Can fall off the length of a tall central tower with slight injuries
Wasn't bothered by having to fight in extremely cold temperatures in his suit

Robot972: Pyro walked around a whole town that was burning up, even stepping through some of the fire, and didn’t care.
Sparks: This is mostly due to his asbestos-lined suit, which prevents Pyro from being ignited. Pyro does still feel the heat of the flames, however, especially when another Pyro’s blasting flames in this Pyro’s face.
Robot972: Pyro can fight in space, without any kind of space suit, in the freezing cold, without anything but his normal Pyro suit, and even in hell. He wasn’t affected when thermonuclear radiated milk is doused on them. He can fall off a central tower with only slight injuries.
Speed
Using his more hit-and-run like maneuvers, can ambush and flank unsuspecting opponents
Moves at around 390 H/U, or Hammer Units, which is around 104.23 m/s
Can regularly move away from and dodge bullets from all sources, ranging from pistol fire to Heavy's minigun fire
In some instances, can and even reflect dodge Sniper's Huntsman arrows with his airblast
-Which can move fast enough to be embedded in solid surfaces like steel and concrete.
Sliced off Soldier's hand without anyone in the car he're in noticing
Was able to massacre the entire BLU Team is two minutes tops
Can react and use his airblast to reflect Soldier's rockets
-If the Pyro can time the airblast correctly, can use the splash damage of the rocket to rocket jump
Can react to Greyman's robots, which are supposed to be superior to the Teufort mercenaries in every way
Using the Scorch Shot or the Detonator, can jump to places he normally couldn't reach before
Can tag a sprinting Scout, someone who can dodge bullets from a Level 1 Sentry, in some instances
-In Meet the Pyro, was able to shoot one down in near point blank range

Sparks: Pyro quickly massacred the BLU Team in Meet the Pyro is what seems like only a few minutes. He can react to and deflect Soldier’s rockets or Sniper’s arrows with his airblast.
Robot972: And remember when he cut off Soldier’s hand? That was done in a matter of seconds, and no one even noticed. Not even Soldier himself! Soldier only realized his hand was missing after he sat back in his seat after leaning forward to complain to Miss Pauling.
Pyrokinesis
  Hadouken Taunt
-Pyro throws his arms out, throwing a blast of fire forward
  Armageddon Taunt
-Pyro blows fire out of his mouth above himself, before throwing a ring of flames out around himself
  Square Dance Taunt
-After dancing, Pyro raises his hand into the air and some fire comes out

Robot972: Pyro possesses a slight Pyrokinesis, which makes sense, considering his entire thing is fire. Pyro shows off this ability in 3 taunts; the Hadouken taunt, where he throws a blast of fire out of his hands, the Armageddon taunt, where he spew flames from his mouth before exploding into flames, and after the Square Dance taunt, where Pyro raises his hand into the air and a small stream of fire comes out.
Primary Weapons
  Flamethrower

--Deals plus 300% damage to burning players
--Plus 50% repressurization rate on hit
-Alt-Fire: Airblast
--Minus 50% repressurization rate on Alt-Fire

Robot972: And of course, we get to Pyro’s flamethrowers. Because what’s a pyro without his flamethrowers.
Sparks: Pyro has many different flamethrowers, each with their own unique abilities and downgrades. They all some some kind of fire blasting property, but only a few of them are able to fire blasts of compressed air.
Robot972: Pyro also recently received The Dragon’s Fury, which is a powerful flamethrower that fires single-shots. Consecutive hits with it reduce the weapon’s reload time and deal bonus damage.
Secondary Weapons
  Shotgun
  Flare Gun
-On hit: ignites enemy
-This weapon will reload automatically when not active
-Guarantees Critical damage on burning targets
-Can be fired into water to damage enemies (no afterburn will be applied)

-Flares detonate on impact, with a greatly reduced explosion radius
-On detonation flare destroys enemy sticky bombs
-This weapon will reload automatically when not active
-Guarantees Mini-Crit damage on burning targets, regardless of distance
-Can be fired into water to damage enemies (no afterburn will be applied)
-50% explosion self-damage vulnerability on user

-Flare knocks back target on hit and ignites enemy in a small radius
-Guarantees Mini-Crit damage and increased knockback on burning targets
-Flare can be used to destroy sticky bombs
-Flare falls to the ground after directly hitting an enemy, lying there for a little while, potentially igniting those who touch it
-Minus 35% damage penalty
-Minus 35% self damage force penalty
  Panic Attack
-50% faster weapon switch-to speed
-50% faster weapon switch-from speed
-30% less damage
-Fires a wide, fixed shot pattern
-Shot pattern grows with successive shots (e.g. while holding down the attack button), but resets after you stop firing or reload
  The Thermal Thruster
-Fires a short-duration blast that launches the Pyro in the direction they are aiming
-Deals 3x falling damage to anyone you land on
-Has a 1.1 second holster duration
  The Gas Passer
-Creates a horrific visible gas cloud that coats enemies
-Flammable material then ignites into 10 seconds of Afterburn if enemies take damage (even Pyros!)

Sparks: Pyro possesses several secondaries as well. He has several flare gun variants, as well as two shotguns and a machine gun-like shotgun. Recently he also received the Thermal Thruster, which is his very own short-duration jetpack, and The Gas Passer, which is an oil can which releases a gas cloud that makes it so their clothes combust no matter what damage they receive. In fact, The Gas Passer even works on enemy Pyros, who wear asbestos-lined suits as well.
Melee
  Fire Axe
-Pyro sees it as the Lollichop
  Frying Pan
  Conscientious Objector
  Freedom Staff

-Minus 20% damage penalty vs players
-No random critical hits
  The Hot Hand
-Gain a speed-boost when you hit an enemy player
-Minus 20% damage penalty
-Every successful slap is announced in the kill-feed

Robot972: Then we have the motherload; his melee weapons. Pyro has a huge arsenal of things to hit his opponents with, ranging from various axes, staffs, hammers, and skulls on spines, to signs, mailboxes, functioning train warning lights, and a smoking oven mitt.
Sparks: The Homewrecker and Maul hammers can deal extra damage to enemy buildings, the Powerjack boosts Pyro’s speed, and the Sharpened Volcano Fragment ignites opponents.
Robot972: But most recently, The Hot Hand gives Pyro a speed boost with each hit. This can be very handy mixed with other speed-providing weapons to match Pyro’s hit-and-run tactics.
Hadouken
  Taunt Attack
Pyro fires a blast of fire from his hands, similar to the Hadouken
Must be equipping Shotgun, Flare Gun, Detonator, Reserve Shooter, Manmelter, or Panic Attack

Sparks: Then we get to Pyro’s attack taunts, which he has three of. The Hadouken taunt, which, yes, is named after the Street Fighter move of the same name, is where Pyro shoots a blast of fire from his hands.
Armageddon
  Taunt Attack
The Pyro blows a stream of bubbles as a rainbow forms above, complete with a sparkling Balloonicorn in the center of the rainbow
The Pyro then leans over as foreboding music plays, causing the rainbow to become engulfed in flames
When seen outside of Pyroland, the rainbow does not appear, and the Pyro simply breathes a steady arc of fire before releasing an inferno
  Must be equipping Rainblower

Robot972: Then we have the best taunt name ever, Armageddon. Pyro spews flames, or as he see them, bubbles which form a rainbow, overhead, before he shoot flames all around himself.
Execution
  Taunt Attack
Pyro adjusts his stance and fires one shot
  Kills close ranged opponents
If it doesn’t hit an opponent, it travels as if fired like usual, dealing normal damage
  Must be equipping Scorch Shot

Sparks: Thirdly, we have the Execution taunt. In this, Pyro will adjust his stance and fire a single shot from the Scorch Shot. Within close range, this shot will be an instant-kill. However, after a certain distance, it will act as a normal shot, and deal normal damage.
Robot972: I’ll be honest, I try to use this taunt way too often in matches…
Gas Blast
  Taunt Attack
  Pyroflatulence
Pyro crouches down, puts a match by his rear, and, mixed with the blasts of the Thermal Fruster, unleashes a giant blast of flames
Must be equipping the Thermal Thruster

Sparks: And finally, we have the Gas Blast Taunt. In this, Pyro crouches down, puts a match by his rear, and lets one rip. You know the flames aren’t just coming from the Thermal Thruster, because there’s a third stream, which is as large, if not almost as large, as the blasts of the jetpack itself.
Robot972: God, Pyro has some serious flatulence. But how doesn’t he just go flying by the force of his own farts?
Weaknesses
  Cannot do much at long-range
-Flamethrowers have limited range
  Finite ammo
-Airblast consumes a lot of ammo
  Doesn't use his incendiary grenades
Reliant on hit and run tactics
-The Dragon's Fury has a bit more of a head-on tactic
  Flame-based weapons are ineffective underwater
Afterburn is negated by Jarate, Mad Milk, and water
  Detached from reality
Got his ass handed to him by a yeti

Robot972: But despite Pyro’s strengths, he, though mostly just his weapons, does have some weaknesses. Pyro has a finite supply of ammo, in which airblasts consume a lot of. This ammo supply can be quickly sucked dry if Pyro doesn’t watch it.
Sparks: And due to Pyro’s weapons being flame-based, they can be negated just as such. Any liquid can put out the flames, and the flame-based weapons are completely ineffective underwater.
Robot972: But this won’t stop Pyro from doing what he wants. Like them or not, Pyro is one creepy bastard.
“One shudders to imagine what inhuman thoughts lie behind that mask…”
“...what dreams of chronic and sustained cruelty?”
--------------------
Robot972: After the first omnic crisis, the world was in pieces.
Sparks: People and Omnics were everywhere and didn’t get along, more resources were being consumed than ever before, and nature was being destroyed.
Robot972: In response to the last disaster, Overwatch established a series of eco-Watchpoints at remote, critical locations worldwide, and sent groups of climatologists to each of these Watchpoints.
Sparks: One such climatologist was Mei-Ling Zhou, one of China’s greatest.
About Mei
  Name: Mei-Ling Zhou
  Gender: Female
  Former Overwatch agent, Climatologist, Adventurer
  Role: Defense

Sparks: Mei introduced cutting-edge innovations in the field of climate manipulate, which helped protect Asia’s at-risk areas as well as others.
Sparks: She was assigned to the program’s monitoring station located in Antarctica, but not all went well.
Robot972: A fierce polar storm cut off all connections to the outside world and forced the group to remain indoors. After running low on supplies, the group of climatologists put themselves in cryostasis until they could be rescued by Overwatch.
  Robot972::That… didn’t go as planned.
Sparks: 9 years later, Mei woke up to find that Overwatch was shut down, she was the lone survivor at the station, and no one had come to rescue them. Hell, no one even knew they were there.
Robot972: Later, after “fixing” the cellular tower, Mei found out Overwatch was being reactivated and set off with her companion Snowball to join the fight to save the world.
Feats
For a long period of time, was an unrivaled climatologist
Came up with incredible contributions for climate manipulation
Was the sole survivor of a group of climatologists who had used cryostasis
Managed to save a nest of endangered wildlife from a collapsing glacier on her own
  Was a member of Overwatch

Sparks: Despite what she seems, Mei’s done quite a bit in her life. She was, for a long time, an unrivaled climatologist, having managed to greatly benefit the field with massive contributions. She was the sole survivor of her frozen climatologists, and she managed to save a nest of endangered wildlife from a collapsing glacier on her own.
Strength
Physical strikes can bring harm to foes like Winston and Reinhardt
Can toss her metal drone, Snowball, very far with only one arm

Robot972: Mei hasn’t really shown any strength feats, though she can bring harm to heroes like Winston and Reinhardt, as well as being able to easily throw Snowball a large distance with one arm. Though, it’s likely assisted by Snowball’s levitation.
Durability
  Can withstand extremely frigid temperatures
Despite being very heavily dressed, can deal with intense heat
-She does note her discomfort, however
Can take hits from Winston, Reaper, Reinhardt and other Heroes
When using Cryo-Freeze, can shrug off almost all manner of attacks

Sparks: Mei can withstand intense cold and heat, though she does feel some discomfort in heat, she can take hits from heroes like Winston and Reinhardt, and her Cyro-Freeze shrugs off all manner of attacks.
Speed
Is able to keep pace with Heroes like Soldier: 76, Tracer, Winston and Reaper
Can improve her mobility by having her drone, Snowball, coat the ground with ice, which she then skates on

Robot972: Mei also hasn’t shown any speed feats, though she can keep up with her fellow mercs and Snowball can coat the ground in ice, which Mei skates around on, slightly increasing her mobility
Endothermic Blaster
Shoots a concentrated, short-range ice stream
-Damages, slows, and can freeze opponents
Can apparently hit someone with 1,500 joules per second, or rather enough force to rival an Anti-Riot hose
The ice is, apparently, close to subzero temperatures
Can fire icicle projectiles at medium-range

Sparks: Mei wields her Endothermic Blaster, which she built out of objects she found in the Watchpoint station.
Robot972: This gun has two means of attack; a short-range ice stream which can rival freaking Anti-Riot hoses, and a medium-range icicle projectile.
Sparks: These attacks are apparently close to subzero temperatures, and they’re able to slow down and freeze victims if they’re stuck in the ice stream long enough.
Snowball
  A weather-modification drone
Can summon ice from its lower half
-Cold enough to instantly coat the ground with ice, and allow Mei to skate around with no difficulty
-Can fire large gusts of freezing cold wind which can quickly freeze people
Can travel through barriers during Blizzard
  Seemingly can’t be destroyed
  Likes to steal socks?

Robot972: Mei’s companion Snowball is Mei’s own weather-modification drone, which she built some time before she was put in cryostasis.
Sparks: Snowball can shoot ice from the generator on its bottom half, which can instantly coat the ground in ice, or fire large gusts of wind which can quickly freeze people. It also can travel through barriers during Blizzard, and seems to be nearly indestructible
Cryo-Freeze
Mei encases herself in a thick block of ice
  Lasts 4 seconds
-Can be cancelled at any time
  Heals Mei
  Ignores damage
  Takes 12 seconds to recharge

Robot972: Mei’s first ability is her Cryo-Freeze, where she encases herself in a thick block of ice which can last up to 4 seconds, though she can cancel it at any time. Though after finishing or being cancelled, it has a 12 second cooldown.
Ice Wall
Generates a giant wall of thick ice
Can be used to give Mei a height boost
  Near-indestructible
  Lasts 4.5 seconds
-Can be cancelled before it’s destroyed
  Takes 10 seconds to recharge

Sparks: Mei’s second ability is her Ice Wall, where Mei creates a giant wall of thick ice. Destroying this wall takes a shit-ton of bullets, so if you don’t have 4.5 seconds to wait for it to disappear, you better be packing some serious heat with an entire team. After it disappears, it has a 10 second recharge.
Blizzard
  No, not the game-development company
Mei deploys Snowball, which emits gusts of wind and snow in a wide area
Enemies caught are damaged and slowed
-If they stay in for too long, they’re frozen solid

Robot972: Mei’s ultimate is Blizzard, where she activates the great power of the game-development company to send the world into a horrific bli-hmm? *Sparks whispering*
  Robot972: Oh wait, never mind
Sparks: When activating Blizzard, Mei throws her companion forward. Before Snowball hits the ground, it floats into the air and begins to emit large gusts of wind for 5 seconds, quickly freezing anyone caught in the gusts.
Robot972: Mix this with the Endothermic Blaster, and you’ve got yourself a room full of giant popsicles.
Weaknesses
  Climatologist first, fighter second
  Few ranged attacks
Attacks and abilities require a cooldown
  Cryo-Freeze immobilizes Mei
Can't use her ultimate right away
-Requires a build up by damaging enemies or healing
  Phasmophobia
-Fear of ghosts
  Temper
Snowball was blown away by a hair drier

Sparks: Mei mei have a great tanking strategy, but she’s not invincible. She’s not much of a fighter, being focused on the climate first, and she doesn’t have much range. Her Cryo-Freeze immobilizes her, and her abilities require a cooldown. She’s also afraid of ghosts, and she has a bit of a temper.
Sparks: I cannot believe I only just noticed that pun...
Robot972: But no matter what, Mei will go against all odds to not only protect humans and omnics, but to protect the world around her.
Winston: “Someone has to do something! We have to do something. We can make a difference again. The world needs us now, more than ever. Are you with me?”
Mei: “Yes Winston, I am with you…”
