Your OC, Chrome, (Is that how it's spelt? ) Is probably the one OC I actually like and respect I've seen. Detailed motives and explanations for him and he remains not sue. This fandom really does need more like you- I've heard too many "Yeah, well I liked the show but the fandom makes me sick" or "The cartoon was great but I couldn't stand the fandom..." or even "Never became a proper fan, because I didn't want to be like the majority of people in the fandom, spewing out twisted irrational pairings and unjustifiable ""original"" characters." You should feel honored. well done!

Tbh, I dislike mushy pairings, and completely humanized FCs, unless it's for crack. I'm more of the horror, action/adventure, sci-fi, and humor person. I even hate most FCs in this fandom, up to the most popular ones because they simply make no sense or are unappealing. Still I'm not gonna let that ruin my fun, the fandom has it's up sides and down sides like any fandom I guess. I just rather do my own thing, and try to not just give my own FCs 100% attention but also give some love to the canons as well. Still possibly need to with Dib and the others though

That's true, I mean, it didn't put me off the fandom (but it did get me out of the animaniacs fandom *but i'm still a big fan of the show*), my issue is to do more OC stuff and less Zim. (The character not the show 
Adding to that, i also think if someone is going to make a Irken fan character, they need to make them "Irken" if you know what i mean by that. (I think you do) but i can sympathize that sometimes that isn't easy to do and be successful in the process. (i guess it's not as bad as when they change the personalities of cannon characters *said the person who makes zim creepier than he is*). And yes there are great things about this fandom, like how devoted we are and our love for the original show which motivated us to make all this art and FCs (good or bad) and of course how motivated we are to get it back on air!

I am appalled by the character, and even if the character was changed a little due to some protests, my protest included. I still dislike Sadi, actually I dislike most of the characters tbh. There is very little FCs in the fandom I will take a liking to due to the more than 60% lacking of alien traits. I prefer the character being around 75% alien but some I guess are tolerable. Irkens being more alien, even made a stamp about how I hate the complete humanization of Irkens. Most people find it hard to make them alien, find drawing machinery/alien tech extremely difficult and making complex stories so that is understandable. Some just make repulsive characters without even trying (slutty characters, copying, sex based FCs that make you paranoid to rp with just anyone, or ones with so much colors and crazy stuff on it to make your eyes burn from a rainbow literally slapping you in your face)
Zim I prefer the more gory, creepy, Zim more than the mushy super OOC ZaDr.

Yeah, i'm sick of all the cute girly anime Zadr-y Zim art out there. And believe me, i know what you mean about the rainbow crap, i go in my inbox (being watched to so many IZ groups *for the good art* including yours) and it doesn't take me more that a few seconds to see a mary-sue with blinding colors.
Yeah, even i find it tricky to draw irken tech- especially when i try to catch the detail in the show.

It's interesting to see Crome with such an expression on his face, really is somthing different.
The effect is also really nice, it makes the picture look calmer, and even if it's yellow it somehow doesnt gives me a happy feeling (which I consider good cause thats kinda hard to do with this colour).
But I'm not sure why do the highlights make Crome look a bit glowy, because the light doesnt seems to me like it would make him gloow 
Overall it looks like a nice picture, great jobwith the background as always

So gorgeous. Your character himself is very interesting, where can I read more about him? The lighting, as has been mentioned, is spectacular and sets a very complex mood. Generally a depressed character will be given a dark, blue-ish setting and here you have put it in gold which tends to bring to mind morning light and hope. Very interesting indeed!

The lighting I'm trying something a bit new to practice shading and lighting since gold and yellow seems easy to practice with. I was also trying to make it less dark this time and more calming.
I'm writing a fanfiction of him. So far the first chapter is already posted but it's just the intro. So he doesn't appear yet until the next chapter and even in the next chapter he's probably going to be introduced at the end since I like to keep everything to not be so rushed. I already have another comic I am doing set in the future so that also connects towards my fanfiction.

Neat! You could always do your lighting all in one color and just edit the hue in Photoshop if you'd like to change the mood.

I found out the use of orange or yellow light is easier to practice shading with. After I practice with yellow I'll probably move on to green and other colors
