Description
Just a quick painting sketch I did in a hour and a half for just more painting practice. I'm trying to slowly tweak the species to be more original. I changed the back plating, so that power should be stored into those metal plated Scapula and I'm thinking of making their whole skeletons mechanical with the exception of the skull. Lower ranked with skin grafted over their entire arms with the exceptions of the king and queens. Also had a better idea about their stories too after I had been thinking.Actually thinking of making the end of the spine have a actual brain at the end of it. A really small organic one that came from a really stupid and brutal nectar hungry creature. Because it'll make more sense as to why they're wanting nectar so much. Just the brains would of course be cybernetic enhanced/mostly mechanical, and I think I rather make their original creators trying to increase a stupid beast races intelligent instead of creating life itself. Would make more sense as to why these guys can't be in completely robotic bodies right away. I'm also going to scrap some stuff. Added a extra toe to the foot too so they now have 3 toes.
Lots of mistakes on this, but meh it's just a sketch, nothing serious.
Now I must get back to my comic!
I guess I'll add more revamping of this species in between each page post. Because by time I'm done with my comic I want to have a completely original species, that I would feel is well developed. So little tweaks here and there.

This is a cool character, it looks like it would be quite fun to draw

Yup, I want to paint a lot more but I may end up dumping them in scraps to avoid spamming people :'D

Probably sure you you do xD
Most of it is probably going to be conceptual studies.

okay, i could use some ideas with concepts and such anyways

Thanks, I had the idea of the spine before but it looked less...spine-like and people thought the shell design looked like a Irkens PAK or similar. So I based this newer design on the skeleton instead of a horseshoe crab like before.

Yeah I saw that, to me it kinda looked like a parasite. But now it looks like armor.
>:3 Lets see anyone stab them in the back this time!

I was trying to go for a parasite appearance at first but people...I don't see how a parasite design would look like a Irken PAK which is just a round thing with spots on it. I guess it was something people wanted to nitpick about or something. But meh I was just trying something, it's going to take a week or two until I get a final design and sure description going on for them.
Most of the species I make do take time to develop apparently just like my Tronak species, which I hadn't introduced that much on DA. That one I had been working on since my sophomore year in high school. :'D

I don't like it when people nit pick about things like that especially when you are actually doing something instead of sitting there trying to compare everything.
I had a question if there body is to damages to even move and it dies could the brain just pop off and find a temporary host until it could get a new body?
Oh and Yeah things take time an evolve. :3 I can't wait to see them all grown up though.

I actually like suggestions and constructive criticism, so I would had always been free to take some suggestions, especially when the designs weren't final.
Well since I changed a little of it, no. They need blood pumping through their brains to keep it functioning. Since half of their brain is organic, the robotic part needs to live off the organic part in co-existant. Without blood the organic brain dies, and the mechanical ones stops functioning. The organic brain is tiny, and encased in a metallic shell with chips inside, and wiring hooked on and attached to the end of the spine which is inside the head. But it is possible to preserve the memories though, since data is stored.
Only way for them to be saved and still living is to have a nearby surgeon who could brutally murder someone, rip out their spine, and install it into the person, and even then there is the possibility of rejection, and the Zenomite would have to be on life support to keep blood pumping into them to keep them from dying. The claws attached to them can move but it'll most likely drag itself slowly across the ground.

Wahh I wish I was like that... I am a delicate flower who cries at the drop of a hat.
Oh I see, hopefully no little Zeno-ie will need to face that, it would suck. I know I'm probably annoying you with questions but.
Do the babies just get new Brains as they grow up and transfer data to the new one or are they giving the large one to begin with?

The newborns or mites is the part I decided to scrap. I decided to make them braindead and stuck within tubes until they are big enough or full grown to be fitted. There are some mites that are active as experimental, and they are by far valueable but they have a set amount of time and constantly need to be in surgery to prevent pain and the possibility of becoming crippled until they are fully grown. The active mites was just something they were trying, but most of the time it's just a lot of work so a select few per century are only active mites since they are used for trying to advance in technology to possibly try to find better ways to grow them. They don't get new brains but their brains do get quickly transferred to a larger spine and skeleton. So they're constantly in surgery until they're fully grown, then they're free.

To them it's normal, kinda like going to the dentist in a way but they do have installed pain receptors and sensors to enable a sense of touch. So it would probably hurt if one were to be treated badly I suppose and not sedated during surgery xD
That's uncommon though since the mites are kinda spoiled most of the time unless they show signs of 'imperfections'.
