Did this for Ottley and Kirkman of course. It was a cover for a book that collected the first issues of all of these comes, Invincible, Brit, and The Astounding Wolf-man, into a single issue.Great stuff and you should check out all these books. If you haven't heard of Robert Kirkman at this point you must be Amish.

I need to learn how to color in photoshop. This might seem like a silly question, but how do you do this? It looks great and like the style i would like to color my Monkey Boy comic in.

Ok, it's actually pretty easy. The basics that is. Do you know how to use photoshop? The secret is really just base flat color, and a shadow color, and a highlight color. The colors of these will be determined by the lighting in the scene your character is in.
That is the very basic level of understanding you need. The rest is just practice and experimentation.
A lot of colorist here on Deviant have video tutorials, like my friend John Rauch here. Check out his videos. I'm sure a lot of your questions could be answered.

Not trying to get you to reveal all your secrets. But do you fade out the edges of the color, or change the opacity? Or do you go with more solid blocks of color? Your style is awesome.

Ah man, you know... it's just fucking with it until you find what you like.
Ok, let's see. I lay down flats, the cut in selections for the highlights and airbrush the hot spots of those selections. Meaning it's brightest where the light is hitting it the most and let it fade out where the light is going into shadow.
I can tell you what I do all day long, but the thing that will work the best for you is simply trying it. Get in there and don't be afraid to fuck up. It's all in the computer so you can always start again. What I do that has helped a lot is using layers. I'll do a highlight on a layer and if it's not "just right" I'll use the color balance or Hugh and Saturation tool to adjust it to what looks best, and since it's on a layer it wont effect the rest of your colors.
Just play and have fun. Color, color, color!!! Look at movies and art and pay attention to the small stuff then try it in your work!
