Dynamic. The cloud swirls and the light beaming behind his armpit fascinated me the most.

You guys did a great job on this cover. Probably one of my favorites you've done together. Great color choices, and overall you two made a good team.

Strange how flying people in comics always look like they are running ...

As apposed to flying people in real life?

At first that was exactly what I thought myself. But then I thought: we - and with "we" I mean you and me and all of your viewers - have seen [images of] people with rocket packs (legs straight); we have seen people skydiving (legs straight); people jumping to grab other people (legs straight); people gliding through water (legs straight); flying animals from birds to flying squirrels (legs straight) and swimming animals from fish to otter (legs straight). We have seen all kinds of living beings gliding through air or water, and I believe that all these examples (and none to the contrary) allow me to form a highly probable analogy for a flying person: with legs straight. Why? Because (a) the aerodynamic resistance would be lower and (b) there is nothing in the air to push off of that would cause this "running" (i.e. using the legs to push off of the ground) posture.
A flying person would only have this "running" position, if he or she was paddling through air like a dog through water. But that would mean that this person cannot really fly (because if he could, he would air-swim in a more effective way). And even if he "swam" through air, he would be pathetically slow (like a diving person compared to a diving dolphin) and his aggressively dynamic pose would in fact be a sign of maladaption.

I've drawn many "legs straight" flying people. But Occasionally they lift their legs. Maybe it's a form of protection, going into battle. I don't think it's an awkward position at all, and most people don't. You are the first.

I like to be contrary
But the idea of the flying person preparing for impact appeals to me. I take everything back I wrote before.

HA! Ok. I also think of it like throwing a basball. When you are flying and you are about to throw a punch it seems like keeping your legs straight would lessen the blow, but lifting a leg and throwing a punch like a baseball, is how I picture that too.

Well, deviant has this policy of not letting anyone delete their account. I find this absurd. This is my work and if I want to burn it all in a trash bin, that's my business. I wonder why. Why will they not let you leave? Why do they make you categorize your art? Why do they make you give a reason for deleting? WHY?!
I don't like being told what to do with my own stuff and I certainly don't like being held captive.
I'm finding it very hard to trust Deviant Art.

Well, the categories are just to help other people find things, but the new categories system SUCKS. I don't know where the hell to put anything. The sorting system is ridiculous.
And yeah, even the perma-banned accounts are forever here. I don't think they're trying to be invasive, though - the way I understand it, it's simply because the programming wouldn't be able to handle the volume, so they just leave it out. I mean, if they made it so that you could then you'd get those morons that'd spam the hell outta it and create-delete-create-delete-create-delete... same dealio with the submissions, I guess - if they make it take longer to delete things, then that really slows down anyone trying to spam.
Certainly makes it a pain in the ass for people who want to leave DA or switch accounts or simply clean up their galleries a little, eh?

Well, there's any number of things that can come or go in any given piece of art. I just color what's there.
