And here it is! Finally! My master piece! Phew...

Well, this was like last year. I randomly found the web-comic Timey Wimey, by Lumic4. I instantly fell in love with Tempora's design. Heh, steampunk is one of my things, definitely. And having a steampunk pony was like... Awesome, in some ways. But that was only earlier this year I asked if I could make a Tempora plushie. I wanted a challenge, and oh boy that was quite the challenge. It got me on my nerves these past few days.

Well, first of all, yes, I know, she lowers her head. Not my fault, actually, but the mane is so massive that its weight drives the head backwards, and I actually don't know how to fix that. But that's not the point.

The wings, dudes. Those wings. I made them in suede to have the feel of the different materials, and I kinda think it matches for the material of the wings and shoes pretty well. But turning suede right side out is pretty hard, so I had to test a new method for these. Then, I had to use some brass wire to plug the wings onto the structure, but since I had to sew the rail thingies for the wires, I almost broke yet another needle on the sewing machine, if not the machine itself (and my mother and sister would have killed me in that case). But brass wire can be pretty fragile and brittle. And so, a few wires broke when I folded them. So I had to tinker to make them work as I wanted. And then, wrapping and sewing the suede around the pipe-cleaner I used for the structure was painful. Seriously. It took me one entire afternoon just to sew the 2 pieces of suede around both structures.

This one-of-a-kind, unique piece was by far my most complicated plushie I had to make. Seriously, for those of you who want to make mechanical wings for your plushies: don't. Or if you have some techniques or advice to give me, I'd be eternally thankful. But I don't think I would make another Tempora plush in my whole life (or at least, in years).

Tempora is made out of Camel, Turquoise and Caramel Minky Cuddle 3 from Shannon Fabrics and DMC embroidery threads. The shoes are made out of suede. The wings are made out of suede, brass wire and pipe-cleaner.
