Description
I've never been all that much into comic books, but this one comic called Femforce caught my eye, initially for obvious reasons, before I discovered that it also had what I think is kind of a retro charm. I couldn't help noticing that one of the characters, Nightveil, bears some similarities to Raven from Teen Titans, though. So, that's what prompted me to be weird and make this pretty darn esoteric pic in which Raven is dressed as Nightveil from Femforce.
That fuzzy eyeball thing's name is Azagoth, which I incorporated into Raven's usual chant to make the title, as a play on words. Hope that explains things adequately, without boring you too much.

We try to leak a little retro charm into everything we do. It has always been our intention that Femforce is much deeper than the surface might appear.

Nice piece, tho Nightveil bears no real resemblance to Raven. Completely different characters, from powers to personalities. Nightveil made her debut as Phantom Lady in the 1970's, in various Paragon Publications books. When Paragon gave way to AC Comics, she appeared as Nightfall in Bill Black's Fun Comics. She then got her own title, and also co-starred in FemForce.

Well, thanks for the history lesson. Their costumes were at least similiar enough that my mind made the connection, but yeah, totally different characters. It was still kind of a fun drawing to do, though.

The drawing looks great! And honestly, I can see where a lot of people would make a connection - - especially with the cartoon version of Raven, who was more "goth mystic" than the "tortured empath" comic book version.

That looks great. I think Nightveil pre-dates Raven but I see your point they are simular

Raven dates back to the DC Comics Presents #26, published in December 1980. Nightveil debuted in Femforce, which began publication in 1985--though she was heavily based on Fox Feature Syndicate's Phantom Lady, who debuted in the 1940s, so this could be kind of a push.

raven definately has that animated quality that's made the show so popular! as always, you've done a particularly fantastic job. most notable are the changes to costume you made. of course, you got a pretty good dynamic feel for the pic, and she carries a solid dynamic feel for what's going on visually. almost as good as tacos.

This is really interesting, and I like how you did her face. The outfit is rather interesting as well, and I love the space cape.
