Description
Digital painting from May of last year. You wouldn't believe how fussy I was regarding the placement of the stars in the background. My main source of inspiration, as is probably obvious, was the iconic poster for one of my favorite movies, Forbidden Planet (which I actually have a framed copy of). I may also have drawn some influence from the gorilla suited villain in the B-movie Robot Monster, though while that guy wore a diving helmet, I gave my creature the head of a bee, taking a cue from The Fly and other mutant insect movies.
